Norbert "magnificent workmanship"
You attention to the fine detail on the range finder and radar mattress is inspiring. I do like the work around the funnel casing particularly around the ventilator panels this is superb. Both Russ and yourself are working on similar areas of the ship, armoured tower /bridge platforms and are both taking scratch building in styrene to very fine level . It's a true delight to see and appriciate . Like Russ I am also interested to see the type of tools you use . We can compare notes on this one.

Superb workmanship as always!
I was wondering on picture 06930 about the funnel diagram underneath the plastic. Did you develop this yourself? I am struggling to interpret the plans I have and this drawing seems to be highly detailed for the builder.
Thank you.

Hi Dave, thank you so very much the comments and kind words.
the range finder still not complete. i need to insert some metal bars(very fine and delicate) but as i say stillnot have a good soldering station(i need purchase some one urgent) so this range antenae is epoxy glued minus the tripod mast i soldering(soft) and work with file to "lapidate" the soldering joint. i need to do soldering work as you do. too is very inspirating for me. Russ is doing a very good model and work as you are doing in your magnificent Kiev.
my tools are basic i think but i am take one picture to show it. i use pliers, cutters, wetdry sandpaper(many grits), dremel,etc... i am take one picture and show my specially tool i have is a circular saw motorized - wonderfull machine to cut tubes(plastic or metal) in angles too.
i would like again to thank you about the encouragment you give for all modellers(includes me) cause to do a ship model
is not easy in many aspects - psicologic too and encouragment is the best "tool" for us and U2.
Many regards my friend
sincerely
Norberto :wave_1: :thumbs_up_1:

hi there norbert,i see we are using the same mostly the same tools, you are just using them better than me :thumbs_up_1: .the saw you have in the last pic what do you cut with it ,styrene, wood or metal.also who makes it, and where did you get it.the reason i am asking is i am looking for a better way to cut styrene sqaure stock and small diameter tubing. my chopper always cuts on a bit of an angle, very annoying.and by the way i like your way of using a drill and sandpaper to make circles :thumbs_up_1:

Hi Russ good from you....
yes i am using the saw to cut metal and sometimes some tubes in styrene.
nut the tubes in the funnel i cut with a single cutter - and don't use the saw in this case.
yes the saw cut styrene tubes - metal - wood etc.. and is to cut just tubes
the square parts of styrene i use or the yellow cutter(slim) or the stainless steel(near the yellow cutter)= more harder and more older strongfull and the blades are large too.
and i use the ruler of drawing table or the 45º square or metal ruler too.
thansk for ask
yes the tools we have sometimes make more we think about... :cool_2:

Hi Norbert Yes many of the tools you have are similar to those that I have. I do like the proportional Disc , I have not seen this before ,I will have to get one of those . Your build on the funnel casing is looking excellent, have you made a start on the hull yet? One of the most over worked tools I have after the various sizes of pin vice is a mini tube cutter .

Hi Wooley good from you too.
yes most of tools are basic tools we haved used yes.
well the proportional disc is wonderfull. but i use when needed.
and is a difficult piece to find here cause the graphics firm still not used more that. are very older tools of the past but still working so much and very efficacy. i have a mini cutter too - is more faster and efficacy too but to cut angles the saw i have is wonderfull..
well i pretend order lime from your country this month(i pretend) and start finally the hull...
my great problem is still not make a "attelier" for me wich means a room to work and a shelter for the hull...
you know the money is short
but yours don't loose to wait and i thank you so much the support and encouragement :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:
