It's the 1st time I build a 1/192 model (apart from a small cargo boat 40meters long) I usually work on 1/500 |

I've done some work The main mast is now glued to the deck The metallic frames supporting the boats are also in place, and I've glued some stiffeners on the funnel (I made them with unithread 8/0) The Carley floats are not glued yet

Summer's almost gone I can resume work on my model. during the last two months it was very hard to find time to work on it (beach fiestas) without a trembling hand. I've fixed the railings on the port side of the boat deck : stanchions : entomologic needles 000 and nylon fishing thread. The 3" HA gun is not definitely glued, neither the motor boat which is not finished The compass platform is almost ready (the chart table needs to be glued on place) There's too a lot of minor paintwork to do

I've done some work !!! I've fixed the foremast. I tried to make the signal halyards with Uni caenis wire, but I was dissatisfied with the result (too much sagging). I've then tried the stretched sprue method of Jim Baumann and it worked perfectly (and quickly) Thank you Jim ![]() For tightening the sprue I used a rolled cigarette as I have always have one in the mouth ! Attachment: Edit JB-- rotated photo

Excellent! I am happy that it worked well for you in a larger scale also!! I actually developed the smoke method using Gitanes and Gauloise cigarettes--then I moved on to Camel Filter... ![]() then... 11 years ago... I gave up smoking--hence I now use incense sticks fro tightening rigging. Model room smells like an Eastern Temple! JIM B ![]() |

I made the rope ladders which lead to the the top of the masts. I had to build a jig and glued the wires with shellac

Hello Setori ![]() great build, i wish i could do my own p/etching. An easy way to attach the radio rigging is to use Lycra at both ends. Roy |

Photo etching is Very Easy. You only need a computer an Corel draw for instance an etching lab which cost 170 euros. try it (if you have the money) the result is worth the investment |
