Hallo Well you need some modeling books on Bismarck , AJ Press from Poland. Josef Kaiser books are nice, too. Plan from Mr Gally from Germany. Also check out the online archive from the Bundesarchive. They have a lot of pictures online available. With this information you can build 20 years on your model Bye. |

Hi 109 thank you for your help. About Bismarck and Tirpitz's AJ books I have 5, but each of the details will be a bit different, I do not know which is good? Josef Kaiser books and Mr Gally related information I can not find. Bundesarchive is a very good source of photos! Now I just can't find any details of the bottom of the boat, not a bit of it, you can tell me where is your source?Bismarck or Tirpitz can be. I'm the only thing missing is the bottom of all water inlet and all water outlet of the exact location and quantity! I hope you can help me do my work. Thank you very much |

Thanks , but I buy my books - I know that's old fashioned but I expect to be paid for my work, too. Again , there aren't drawings with all details. You have to do some research of your own . And your results will be different from mine. |

I remember a model maker by the name of Jack Bidgood starting a 1:48 scale model of the frigate HMS Leander back in 1971. Each year he would bring various parts to the Model Engineering Exhibition in London to show progress. Every item imaginable that was on the full size ship was included on his. It was a work of pure dedicated genius. The years rolled by and eventually in 2003 he presented the completed model at the Model Engineering Exhibition gaining a plethora of awards including the highest score achieving the coverted Gold Medal . Sadly he passed away in 2006 only ever building one such model. But what a model!!. Dave Wooley Just found this but thank you for the kind comments about my grandfather (Jack Bidgood), but he passed away in 2010. |

Hi, finally some progress. A few months ag I started to research Bismarck´s main battery. I am using green Ureol which give you the chance to get sharp corners and edges! At least when you sand like hell!!

Hello Bernd, where did you find the information about the new Bugsschallanlage for the Bismarck too ??? I know about the Tirpitz, ... but never saw a photo of it on the Bismarck ...so from where you got this information ? Talking about the color of the barrels on May 21st, 1941, ..that si dark grey and not red, ... they were just over peinting teh yellow under it. This info I gave you for sure. Bye, Antonio |

Hello, My Name is Patrick. I'm a new member. I'm french, so sorry for my approximate English. First of all, congratulations on your accomplishment... just incredible. May be you can help me… I also build the Bismarck in 1/100 and I would like to represent the weld lines on the hull... I saw some pictures on page 17 and 19 but some details are not clearly visible... for example, I can't determine the width of the shielding plates on the side of the hull. Another example, the weld line at the bottom of the hull passes below or above the side keel (Schlingerkiel) many other welds that are actually invisible on the pictures... Do you have the possibility to send me more pictures or direct me to the site where you found the pictures of the welds? Thank you in advance for your help and I hope to see you soon. Patrick Translated with http://www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version) Bonjour Patrick, sorry for the late answer. The Book "The Battleship Bismarck (Anatomy of The Ship)" contains infos on the weldlines and hull plating. As always just because information is published in a book doesn´t make it correct per se. Hope your Bismarck is making progress. Please show some pictures of it. |

1:50 Bismarck would weigh about 800 lbs? You go canoeing in that! |
