I am of course always appreciative of Song's experience which leads to a combination of speed of construction and excellence. Coming along nicely!

Cheers: Tom

2 questions.
1: why is there a knotchout where the keel joins the bow stem?
2: why does it appear that part of the keel 4 frames back from the transom plate is lower then the rest of the keel?

2 answers.
1: It's difficult to maintain straight line of bow stem without knotchout. You will see in near future plaking stage.
2: That is flight deck. It is lower than main deck. could you check plan and real ship?

1: I never had to do that to my 1/144 Spruance/Tico hull back in the 80's but we shall see.
2: I am talking about the keel not the flight deck. it appears as tho you had to add a short straight piece to the keel before doing the curve to the transom plate.

Sorry I misunderstood your question.
The keel of your comment will be exposed after planking. The other will be covered with plaking strips.
So it is lower then the thickness of strips.

Song has been planking hulls for a long time and his works are a great example to those who should like to follow this time proven method. The construction of the basic hull is probably less than 10 % of the whole model construction time wise.
