Another one from the National Archive's "Historical Films of the U.S. Army Signal Corps". This time it's German films of the commerce raider Mowe: https://catalog.archives.gov/id/24670#.X1EbusCyN7s.link

Hi Martin, Thanks for posting -

I've recently rekindled a longtime interest in the German "Hilfskreuzers" from both wars, and have spent a lot of the current lock-down collecting as many books as I can find (maybe 25 or 30 so far) on both the cruisers and their victims.

Current scratchbuild project is SMS Cormoran (the one scuttled at Guam in 1917, not HSK Kormoran of HMAS Sydney fame). Although not successful like SMS Mowe she's pretty interesting in her own right.

I really find the whole wolf-in-sheep's-clothing topic to be fascinating since the ships were allowed to operate with considerable autonomy for extended periods, relying on the cunning and daring of their crews for survival, and generally conducted their efforts with a high standard of concern for the rules of war and regard for the needs of the crews of the captured ships.

Thanks, Martin. It is about one of the most successful warships of WWI and such films are rare.
