TRIVIA---character actor Del Monroe is best known for co-starring on VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA. He played Seaman Kowski in the 1961 movie and was the only member of the movie cast to return as a full-time member of the tv series cast where he played Seaman Kowalski.

It's a shame the Seaview class was retired so early. They always seemed to be so promising in service!

Nice dio, but the Seaview looks like it's not the same scale as the other subs.

Yep - Huge, wasn't she!

It's the Moebius Seaview and MikroMir Thresher/Permit. Flying sub is Para Grafix, all allegedly in 1/350. I chose Permit since the class was pretty short but better proportioned for this than Skipjacks.

I didn't have any 1/350 PE railings for the brows when I did this a year or so ago and she ended up mostly finished on the shelf. Maybe I'll do brows and mooring lines this weekend so I can finally call it done.

I got this reply on another forum:

"Kid down the street won a contest and received a model of the Seaview that had been in the TV show. It was nearly 3 feet long and made from fiberglass."
