My wife visited Batterie Vara at Kristiansand, Norway yesterday. I had no idea that German 38 cm SK C/34 naval cannon (ala Bismarck/Tirpitz) had been emplaced as shore batteries there!

Jonah, today is your day.

The design for an Edsall class funnel in 1/350 scale is complete and has been added to the catalog. This model is recommended to help build an Edsall class destroyer escort from the Trumpeter 1/350 scale USS England DE-635 kit.

This one piece funnel features the correct complex elliptical shape, exhausts and vents characteristic of the US Navy's and US Coast Guard's Edsall class destroyer escorts.

For those intending to build USS Camp DE-251, the only ship of the class refit with 5"/38 mounts, a set of two 5"/38 cal. mounts with the correct aft roof facet is available.

Thanks to noted naval historian Rick E. Davis who graciously contributed advice, research and reference materials obtained from the National Archives as well as David Perry who provided plans.

The design for a set of accurate boat winches is complete and has been added to the catalog. Boat winches were supplied to the Navy by many manufacturers and details varied widely. This design matches the boat winches of the Fletcher class destroyer USS Kidd DD-661 preserved as a museum ship at Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The models are available in most larger scales.

We are pleased to announce the design for accurately shaped and very highly detailed USS Arizona Fighting Tops, as they appeared on December 7th, 1941, is complete and has been added to the catalog. These fighting tops are also suitable for USS Pennsylvania, USS Nevada and USS Oklahoma.

The models are available in scales 1/426 (1/429 true scale) and larger.
