Jonah, today is your day.

The design for an Edsall class funnel in 1/350 scale is complete and has been added to the catalog.
This model is recommended to help build an Edsall class destroyer escort from the Trumpeter 1/350 scale USS England DE-635 kit.

This one piece funnel features the correct complex elliptical shape, exhausts and vents characteristic of the US Navy's and US Coast Guard's Edsall class destroyer escorts.

For those intending to build USS Camp DE-251, the only ship of the class refit with 5"/38 mounts, a set of two 5"/38 cal. mounts with the correct aft roof facet is available. Link: http://shpws.me/O9CX

Thanks to noted naval historian Rick E. Davis who graciously contributed advice, research and reference materials obtained from the National Archives as well as David Perry who provided plans.

1/96 scale and 1/72 scale US Navy warship fans! The design for a set of accurate boat winches is complete and has been added to the catalog. Boat winches were supplied to the Navy by many manufacturers and details varied widely. This design matches the boat winches of the Fletcher class destroyer USS Kidd DD-661 preserved as a museum ship at Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

We are pleased to announce the design for accurately shaped and very highly detailed USS Arizona Fighting Tops, as they appeared on December 7th, 1941, is complete and has been added to the catalog. These fighting tops are also suitable for USS Pennsylvania, USS Nevada and USS Oklahoma.

Due to the extraordinary size of the CAD file, the fighting tops are being offered as separate Fore Top and Main Top. The two tops have different rivet and reinforcing plate and strap detail.

Steve,

Could you make these available in 1/144 scale?

Thanks,

Steve,

Well, that's great!!! One question - is there a way to modify a Shapeways order (I placed an order this a.m. before I saw your reply) to add another item? I'll order these winches, but it would be nice to add to the existing open order just placed.

Let me know!

Hank

Yes, you will be able to combine orders that have not yet been printed to save on shipping. No worries. Normally, this is part of checkout for the latest order. If you have any trouble, shoot a message to Shapeways customer service.

As always, thanks again for your patronage!

Very happy to announce sets of Colorado class 16"/45 cal. turrets and barrels are becoming available. First available is a set of turrets in their original configuration (no external vent trunks). USS West Virginia BB-48 had this configuration on December 7th, 1941.

1/350 is ready now, 1/700 will be shortly.

A set of modified configuration turrets with exterior vent trunks will be ready next.

We are happy to announce the designs for German battleship Gneisenau upper, forward superstructures in 1/700 scale (for Tamiya) and 1/570 scale (for Revell) are ready and have been added to the catalog. The new 3D-printed part features an enclosed admiral's bridge and correctly shaped decks and platforms, which neither the Tamiya nor Revell kits have.

This design is of the structure as it appeared in 1941, during Operation Berlin. A separate design for 1942 ("The Channel Dash") will be available shortly.

A design for Gneisenau's upper, forward superstructure as it appeared in 1942 ("The Channel Dash") is now available. The upper fire control deck is differently shaped aft than the earlier 1941 design.

We are pleased to announce that the design for a 1/350 scale Gneisenau Hangar and Catapult Pedestal is complete and has been added to the catalog. This 3D-printed model is intended to help you convert your 1/350 scale Dragon Scharnhorst kit to sistership Gneisenau as the ship appeared in early 1941, during Operation Berlin.

This design has specific features, deck and platform shapes unique to Gneisenau. It is not a 3D-printed copy of the Dragon or Iron Shipwrights kits' parts.
