Well, that's great!!! One question - is there a way to modify a Shapeways order (I placed an order this a.m. before I saw your reply) to add another item? I'll order these winches, but it would be nice to add to the existing open order just placed.

Let me know!

Hank
Yes, you will be able to combine orders that have not yet been printed to save on shipping. No worries. Normally, this is part of checkout for the latest order. If you have any trouble, shoot a message to Shapeways customer service.

As always, thanks again for your patronage!

We are happy to announce the designs for German battleship Gneisenau upper, forward superstructures have been added to the catalog. The new 3D-printed part features an enclosed admiral's bridge and correctly shaped decks and platforms, which neither the Tamiya nor Revell kits have.

This design is of the structure as it appeared in 1941, during Operation Berlin. A separate design for 1942 ("The Channel Dash") will be available shortly.

The models are available in most popular scales.

Kudos to Steve for working up these hangars. I hope Shapeways sells a lot more in 1/700th than just the one I'll be getting

Thanks Martin, fixed my post. I'm on here instead of working (as usual). I was about to send my assistant Mike an e-mail thanking him for a report he'd completed, when I got distracted by the Gneisenau hangar. The rest is history.

1/350 scale Gneisenau 1942 Admiral's Bridge is ready for your Dragon kit.

1/400 scale Scharnhorst 1943 Admiral's Bridge is ready for your Airfix, Heller and JSC kits.

Model Monkey 1-350 Gneisenau Admirals Bridge 1942 a.jpg

There are some significant differences in the design of the Admiral's Bridges, most noticeably the shape of the upper fire control platform, and the shape of the Admiral's Bridge deck, as seen in renderings in earlier posts.

Steve, wow, I've just discovered the MM site on shapeways, very impressive.
I have a Saratoga bought with extra aircraft - researching the types and when she flew them, I can build the ship in November 1936 and then fill the flight deck. I was not looking forward to rebuilding the island. Now I don't have to! I'll work out how to order online and hopefully purchase island, funnel and turrets before the year is out.
Great work!
