If you buy it from Lucky Model then it will be in US dollars and free shipping!
The only problem is HM Revenue and Customs may set ParcelForce onto you and then you have to pay the Import Duty and a fee to PF for being so kind as to deliver the parcel. The fee is really for them collecting the duty on behalf of HMRC but I couldn't avoid being a bit snarky.

As far as I know it is nearly the same in the complete EU and for the UK everything with more as 15.00 GBP and max. 135.00 GBP has "only" 20% import VAT but no fees etc. (in Germany it is for example the same with more as 22.00 EUR and max. 150.00 EUR and local German 19% import VAT).

About rivets I read here too ...
some 1/35 ands 1/72 tank builders make their own rivet heads with a small point of white glue. I made by my own on a 1/87 tanks and result was fine, but if it works in this scale here I can't rate. :wave_1:

Customs charges are no longer really the "luck of the draw" they used to be in the UK.

I have recieved a complete Tamiya 1/16 R/C Tank with all the radio gear and not been charged, yet I have been charged on a £70 trumpeter kit, both from China. I think it basically stands that anything over £40 in value, whether a gift or not is charged VAT at 20% plus an £8 customs charge.

It would appear, however that items from the US, New Zealand and Japan are pretty much guaranteed to be charged, whereas China seems less likely? I have just bought a 1/200 Arizona from China... we'll see what happens??

Kim,

I've just been reading a build thread on this kit, using the KA set. The builder states the set has no PE to add or improve detail below the water line. Will you be making your set more complete than the KA version in this respect?

Will you include parts for the stand alone turret?

I am waiting for your set to be available before I start the kit... :thumbs_up_1:

Please give us the option to buy the PE separate from the laser-cut deck too!

Kim,

You seem to have gone very quiet on this set?? The Mk1 set is currently available in the UK for £150 and as far as I can see, is selling well.

Can you please give us all an update on when you think this will be available now??

Yep we are digging too much deeper than we had thought.
At first We thought it might be enough to release this big set witin January and should have done.
But Trumpeter kit is worse than we thought and as digging deeper and deeper, there are too many things to be upgraded...

Now the Wooden deck design is 95% is finished...
And Mr. park is drawing main points of PE

And I am designing the Catapult with full mechanism as pneumatic system with cylinder shape.
Now I am also typing CNC program for 44 pipes near the main Funnel.
It is easy to scribe these brass pipes. But I am searching the best way how end-users can fit these 44 pipes rightly on the funnel area.

We would sell this detail up set at least for coming 30years, so we don't mind some weeks delaying is not so important for better results. I hope you don't too.

Anyway until now everything is going well and following up our intnends.
Just hope you are also satisfying these results though we can't show anything now.

Keep your eyes on this thread.

Thank you
Kim

I'm the impatient sort but I'm still willing to wait for a superior set.

I am glad I found this post. I almost ordered the KA (MK1) sets. Now I will wait for the Pontos set.

Please give us the option without wooden deck. I will be painting my deck.

Thanks

Goran

Haha, looks we are building the real ship !

Hey Kim, don't make individual parts too complicated. I am too old to do the detail. I am now working on the New Jersey Mk-38 director and I found it quite difficult to make it perfect.

Regards,

Douglas
