I'm not the Mr. kim of Pontos. In korea, we are enjoying the oriental new year holiday season. So they are on vacation for three to five days. As far as I know, they have plan to finish the Bismarck PE design till the end of Feb. Then probably need more time for correcting the fitting problem and packaging.

So, I'm sure you can guess the probable releasing date.

have held off doing any work on my bismarck for a couple of months waiting for the aftermarket kits but can't hold back any longer, will be going with the KA set (or I will if I can find a UK stockist with some ready to sell) plus some nice stuff from a German supplier, particularly the hull vents. Desperate to get stuck in !

Hi Kim,

I'm unsure if you've mentioned whether or not you are doing a decking for this kit, but if you are, can you please consider supplying new grating for the entire open bridge area (both forward and aft) and the forward part of the captains/mast bridge? The ones molded on the kit look just terrible and do not match the layout seen in period photos, and Trumpeter only included the crating on the forward part of the open bridge where they should be on the whole thing.

also might it be possible to include resin anchor loops/collars for the port and starboard anchor cluses as trumpeter missed those too?

Thank you
Dana

Dana,
We would try to add the right deck shapes on the bridge as you wish.
Anchor resin parts will not be added at this basic set.
Thank you
Kim

Sorry for the late in posting...
We are doing our best in upgrade the trumpeter kits.

Today I show you the 105mm barrels.
I think these 105mm may be one more reason worth to be waited some more weeks.

I am happy to wait especially for excellent workmanship like this. Some manufacturers like KA and Eduard rushed in and havent got things quite right. Eduard's new chain linked fence for example, whilst nice, has huge hoops on the railings for the chain which look way too big.

Plus I have so much work to do on the hull, I'm sure the Pontos set will be released long before I'm ready to use it.

Kim,

Wow! They looking great. Can't believe how could you possibly work all these projects at reasonably fast speed. I as a modeler and engineer know that these thing would take time to get it right even with the help from today computer. I'm nearly close to get the Yamato set in not too far future.

Do you stills plan to release the Bismarck set for 1/350 Revell kit? I'm deciding between these two kits. Anyway, if I ever get the Trumpeter, I know that it'll be one of once in a life time project that will take me years to finished. I don't mind waiting a few months of even a year to wait and see which upgrade set would suit me best. Please don't hurry, I know that they are a lot of people that would rather wait for a well researched kit. I don't know how your product will turn out but I'm sure that I'll not have to cry if your turn to be better & cheaper!

There are really two sides to it ... there are people that are dead in the middle of their build and I can understand them not wanting to wait. I did something a little different I just received the kit today.

I was a late purchaser not part of the late 2012 crowd.. that way I didn't have to worry about wanting the detail kit now. I have been immersed in studying a ship I know only a little about and watching with keen interest the builds that are underway.
I have purchased (Kaiser, AOTS, etc) or downloaded as much as possible in terms of publications that I which look like the references that everyone seems to agree are the better ones to rely on. So while the build has been non existent the research has been feverish.

I will wait to assess what looks like a stunner of the detail set that is being offered here. Is late February still on the table or will it be later?

Accuracy and attention to detail before profit, Mr Kim you are to be applauded.
I will wait, but do keep the pictures coming as I need a fix every now and again.
Rob.

After 1/200 Bismarck we will start rightly 1/350 for Revell kit.
We do our best in finalizing this set.

Kim
