HMS Victory side entry and steps 100 scale

Post by scalewarship »

Hi all

we have been working on a 3D image of the side entry and steps for the 100 scale victory, there is more work to do and we may do the earlier canopy and pillars as a complete small kit,

once we have completed the drawing we will produce the masters using 3 D prototyping and cast in resin.

About time someone to think about the poor sailing ship folks. The 1/100 Victory is on my wish list , but the sheer amount of work needed is putting me off from buying it.However good as it may be , i think it would go a long way further with the addition of aftermarket extras which are almost non existent for it today. Perhaps a dedicated set with some nice PE and resin replacements ?Expensive as it may be , people who getting into builds like that are worried more about the time needed rather than the money .

Hi Angeleyes
we have drawn up two etch sets so far one for the hammock netting and one for the chain links and bars (anchor points for the ratlines), we have a large list of items which will be resin or photo etch and as all 3 of us at scalewarship has a victory they will get done as seperate sets as we go along, thanks for looking in

Dafi is quite the obsessive and stickler...

Hi Jim
Thanks for the links, I don't think we will go that far, its an excellent piece of work though, our main aim will be to correct some areas and assist people who do not have the skills to do what Dafi does, this area of modelling is missing aftermarket items, there are other sailing ships we are looking into also,

Concur. As someone who spent hours on this task over a two-week period on my old 1/100 Victory I would have shelled out big $$ to avoid it if it was available...

Oohh, very nice. My bid would be the stern and main mast lanterns, never liked the kit ones.

Mine's still in its box - nowhere to put once finished, so haven't started :-(

Watching with interest.

Hi Robin,

I am currently modelling a HMS Victory 100 scale. Do you have a rough idea when the side entry and the steps will be available in the scalewarship e-shop? It would be a help.

Johny

Hi Johny
I have some steps and entry way cast already, just not had time to trial fit them, I will talk to john later price them up and get them on the site, I will put up a photo of the steps also asap. The canopy is not yet done but wont be long, we are working on the scroll work on the sides which will be done in very fine photo etch.
