Hi All!

We've finalized CA-35 Indianapolis 1945 version for Academy kit.
We are also developing similar set for Trumpeter kit but there are some critical problems on Trumpeter kit. So it has been delayed for some more times.

Anyway This detail sets divided two version 37017F1 and 35017F1.
37017F1 is "Advanced" set. This set is included all the contents of this project.
31017F1 is "Advanced Plus set" for 35017F1 buyers who wish more advanced details of 37017F1.

Image

The first content is Scribed Barass parts. With over 140parts, you will be exciting during your work.
All 7 Ventilators, Various Radome radars and antennas, mast/yard set, All the barrels from twin Oerlikon and Bofors 5in to 8in barrels. 24 Bitts also show our full brass contents for these sets. And more 37017F1 has 8 smoke generators as turned brass parts.
Image

Next content is Wooden deck. There are some argue at 1945 final state as 20B deckblue stained or not.
So we also added normal teak tone stained deck in this set. And then you can select one as you believing.
Image

The following content is Resin parts for Catapult. these 4 parts are essential for our PE catapult completion.
Image

For the Advanced users, we added Veteranmodel's 6 quad Bofors and 8 5inch single.
Image

The most important content is Photo Etched frets.
The first is for the Rails/Ladders/Super Structure areas/Bridge/Mast Etc.
Image

The second is Armour/Catapult/Crane/Deck decoration parts
Image

The third brass PE is some Doors and life Buoy Baskets.
Image

The 4th is 0.1mm Sus material PE frets for the Armour plates on the each side of hull and full plates for deck.
we tried to realize all the plated panels on the deck with these PE.
Image

The last fret is the stencil masking templates for Anti slip patterns.
I am sure there is no other better way to realize these anti slip pattern than these.
Image

The last content is our Dry Transfer for Water Draft markings and hull number.
Image

Instruction manual is composed of 3paper A3 size and 1paper of A4 size full color printings.
For more details...

Kim can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is it:

In case anyone is confused about the relationship between the sets' contents, it's simply this:
31017F1 (Advanced Plus) + 35017F1 (Basic) = 37017F1 (Advanced)

Note that it is the second digit in the product number that describes the set type.

31017F1 Advanced Plus is NOT an upgrade for 37017F1 Advanced! It is just an upgrade for the 35017F1 Basic!
The "Plus" simply refers to the extra parts that are needed to bring 35017F1 Basic up to 37017F1 Advanced standards.

I think we all agree that the labelling of these sets could SO much simpler!

I was confused as well, is it the Advanced set contains everything possible and that is all you would need to buy? The basic & Advanced plus = the advanced set?

As Timmy noted,
31017F1 (Advanced Plus) + 35017F1 (Basic) = 37017F1 (Advanced)
is the most simple noting.

Thank you
Kim

Hey Kim,

After you clarified it for me segeral posts ago I understand it now. I think Bill was eluding to an idea that would help us as your customer base understand which package is what easier.

Perhaps looking at the naming convention you are currently using. A suggestion would be:

Basic set
Advanced add on
Premium set (subtitled basic and advanced add on)

Having two listed as advanced is somewhat confusing to several people apparently. I only suggest this because the question has come up several times just in this thread. It would increase your consumer confidence in which products they want to enjoy by you guys going forward.

I hope that helps you going forward. I for one will be getting the advanced set.

Thanks for your amazing work!

Thank you for your advice, English is NOT my mother language so there may be some misunderstaings on my rhethoric expression.

But my wishing point in showing on our sutff title is that we would not decorate the title with glitzy expressions as Premium, Ultra, Ultimate, Super, Hyper or Delux etc.
Mainly because I wish and have tried to make "Pontos" itself mean everything.
So I selected "Basic" and "Advanced" for recent products to separate based on the price range and special case.

Thank you
Kim

Hello, Kim,
May I ask you to clarify one moment? Those metal decks are supposed to be used INSTEAD original plastic decks from Academy's set or they should be installed OVER plastic ones?

Regards,
HarryER

Kim, 1 question.

Can someone order an extra set of resin catapult pieces? I noticed your kits include both catapults (which is great if you want to build a Pre'45 Indy or Portland), but only include the catapult resin bits for a single catapult.

You mention "these 4 parts are essential for our PE catapult completion", but if there are not resin parts included for both catapults, is there a way to order another set of those 4 so I can build both catapults?

Thanks

JT

Next year, we will share much time for the variation sets as some Detail sets for Warspite, Dreadnought and indy for Trumpeter kits.

Thank you

Excellent news, Kim! I have the Trumpeter Dreadnought 1915 and was going to dig up an old thread to ask about it.

Hi Kim, I'm nearing completion of my Indianapolis with your set and have found that all brass parts numbered 30,31 and 32 are missing. Any chance of having them sent out to me?
