Due to the lengthy process in designing this set it has been decided to be issued in two steps:
Step one: corrected main turrets by next month (February)
Step two: the full set by the end on May or early June

Update came 5 minutes ago: main turrets should be available by early April.

Will the upcoming L'Arsenal 1/350 conversion set substantially enhance the Trumpeter Richelieu kit?

TIA

Hi Bruno, just wanted to check in on this Richelieu conversion set, are you still on track to have this completed this month?

Hi guys,
Thank you for your interest for the 1/350 Richelieu detail set. Here is the status of the two sets in preparation.

Richelieu post-1943 refit:
All resin parts are done, the three large PE frets and brass barrels will be included in the set, only an additional PE fret has to be produced.

Richelieu 1940 version:
Master parts for the resin parts have just been received today, pre-production will begin soon. The Loire 130 and associated catapult will be sold as a separate set as this catapult was found also on Strasbourg/Dunkerque

To Jimmy, please contact Jacques off line to see what is possible to do for your important project.

Gilbert

G'day

Will the Richelieu 1940 conversion set ever see the light of day? Would like to build Trumpeter's 1/350 Richelieu in its 'pre-Americanisation' configuration.

For those who are anxiously waiting for this conversion/ update set, here is a small update.

Yesterday I helped Mélaine to sort out the master parts for Richelieu conversion sets.
It can now confirm there will be two huge sets : one for post 1943 Richelieu and one for the 1940 version.

The post 1943 set is the most advanced: it will include the former PE set issued by l'Arsenal (details and weapons) and about 200+ new resin parts to detail/ correct nearly everything from the main tower to the weapons, also the full correct ship-boat complement. Master parts are now ready and molds will be started in about one week. I've been told of an ETA by next Xmas or early next year, so the final countdown is now running :thumbs_up_1:

The 1940 will come later, maybe next Spring: I've seen the catapult & crane and main tower details. More parts should follow, including those which are common with the 1943- version, giving also a gorgeous set. ETA has not been firmly fixed yet, but for sure in 2017.

I expect more infos in about one month. Stay tuned and thanks for patience.

_Bruno

That 1940 version is literally the best news I've heard in quite awhile! I've been gathering references and cutting and pasting all of the posts from the "in progress" build on this site and was hoping to start when my Bismarck is done. This will be an immediate buy when you release it!

Hello, The post 1943 conversion set is well on its way and includes a corrected forward tower as its biggest part.
The 1940 back-fit set today only includes the aft deck equipment (catapult and crane), the main and secondary turrets, 100mm corrected masks, three corrected range finders, a corrected fore tower and period fittings for this. I haven't seen yet a corrected aft funnel-tower (which was different from the later version) and I'll ask if some is planned. I'll also ask for a hangar structure.
The 1940 set will come later, probably by the end of next Winter of Spring.

Thank you
_Bruno

One of the things I've been kicking myself for missing was the L'Arsenal resin floatplane and was wondering if that will be included? Such a beautiful ship!

Of course the Loire 130 floatplane will be included in the 1940 version which is due later in 2017.
