Hi All,
As you've got some emails from some our dealers,
We've finally released these sets at last Monday and started to ship from 27th November.
I am sorry that we could ship from two weeks ago but we've spent much more time in finalizing instruction manual.
There are some errors and missed points in Bismarck Manual,(these corrections were uploaded at the detailed page of each product) so we spent some more times in checking the whole manual.
I think and hope at this time you may not be so hard to analyze our manual.

Anyway the box labels are

And photographs for all contents.

The final contens are 297 Turned brass parts (in real package 299 parts are included)
One large wooden deck
18Frets of PE
33 pcs. of Resin parts.

And 6pages of A3 size and 2page of A4 size instruction manual.

For more details..
With normal Teak tone deck http://pontosmodel.com/html/23002f1.html
With 20B deck Blue tone deck http://pontosmodel.com/html/23003f1.html
Without deck http://pontosmodel.com/html/22002f1.html

And Wooden decks are
Normal teak tone http://pontosmodel.com/html/20002wd1.html
20B Deck Blue tone http://pontosmodel.com/html/20003wd1.html

Good Luck!

Thank you
Kim

Hi Kim,
Are you going to release 1/350 WWII Missouri as well?

Today I received the full (teak) PE set from Pontos. Over the last week I have studied the instructions which are in high-res and can (and should) be downloaded from Pontos' site.

The set is of absolute stunning detail, excellent production quality, and perfect packaging. The instructions are a great improvement over the Bismarck set (which wasn't that bad at all, if one has other material for the build) I have not the slightest idea what Ponos could or would add to an advanced set, this set is already way beyond what has been available so far for our hobby, and at a reasonable price, I might add!

The only "complaint" I have is that there are no resin casts included for the (57) 20 mm guns (and for the other (20) 40mm Bofors). It is my hope, born out of the desire to stay sane, that one company will take it up. I am sure there is a market and people willing to pay for saving life time!

At any rate, this is a new "high" in our hobby and my congragulations and thanks go to Pontos and Kim for a job very, very well done! Also a big Thank You to Brandon/Freetime for servicing fast, up to date, and without any hazzle!

Dietrich

Dietrich,

I received my set today as well. I agree, the detail is stunning to say the least. Check you brass parts, I did not receive any of the 40mm barrels, but I did get 2 sets of the 20mm barrels.

Hi Kelly,

I am fine. Of course I did not check all turned parts, but the barrels are complete.

We've shipped the first lot cartons at last week. and Our dealers have already shipped and some of you might receive this first lot .
We've found some sets to Freetime have one more zipper bag of 20mm Oerikon barrels instead zipper bag of 80 Bofors barrels. So we've sent to Brandon some zipper bags of 40mm additional.
So if you have no 40mm zipper bag please contact Brandon or my email directly.
I will ship the missed bag to you directly. And extra 20mm zipper bag need not be sent back.

And please check again whole parts are in your package rightly.

Thank you
Keumho Kim

Even the first lot, not all the boxes missed 40mm Bofors barrels.
But please check everything when you get.
The second lot might be shipped yesterday or today if proceeded well.
The 3rd lot will be come to GA at next Monday.

Good luck for your work.

Thank you

Thank you for your comments and advice.
There also are a few mistakes in this manual but I think these are small problem in assembling.

As for the resin parts, 20mm will be no more detail with resin.
It may take only 2days to assemble our 49 Oerlikons.
But as for the 20 quad Bofors, this resin parts are really breathtaking beautiful detail.
Why? these were come from Veteranmodel. Yep it is "were" not "will be". Already we have some hundred sets for these but I will open any photo of these when Advanced set is open publically.

Keep your work.

Thank you

It is not about about the detail or the time, it is about the process itself. At no matter how well it is done and how long it takes, a resin version with some PE parts will alwys look better!

I certainly hope these will be available separately? I don't see me spending another $ 300.- just to get my hands on the Bofors. I would consider this a bad business praxis by Pontos.

Best regards,

Dietrich

Well, Both FUll metal and some resin(or injection parts) have each merit and demerit.
Surely all our Advanced sets can be bought separately with same or similar price.

Thank you
Kim

Kim,
Happy to hear that the advanced sets will be available separately or as a supplement to those of us who have bought the basic set. Do you know when the advanced set will be available?

Just after releasing Bismarck Advanced set, we would do this.
We try to do all these by this January.
Thank you

I certainly hope that the advanced set - if it really comes out in January or February 2014 - is also available as an add-on to the basic set. If not, meaning that one would need to buy the full set in order to have the benefit of the additional parts, I would be very angry. I would consider this a shameless milking of the customers. Kim's answers are sometimes hard to understand and maybe he didn't understand what Bill wrote.

All our Advanced sets will be released same time with Add-on sets for who already have Basic or Normal sets.
Sorry If my writing might make you be confused.

I just got my 1/200 Missouri in the mail, too. This thing is more of a beast than I had imagined. It will be over a year before I get to this. I will finish my 1/350 before I start on this, but this will be done as a modernized USS Iowa. I will have to do a lot of customizing, too. 1/200 SPS-48, SPS-49, and lots of other radars in addition to Mk45 Mod4 guns, Mk38 Mod2 25mm guns, RAM, Phalanx, etc and a wood deck and a flight deck fit in a modern arrangement. It will be a huge project!!! I wonder if Pontos would be willing to help out with a custom deck for this my custom build.

As I might mentioned at other thread, if Trumpeter may not release modern version as Tamiya, we may try to do this.
But I think Trumpeter would not lose another big market for Modernized Iowa Class version.
So let's wait some more years.

Well ... for the first it looks currently like that Iowa in WW-2 outfit will come first Mr. Kim :-)
