This time, it's the 1/700 IJN Type 89 Twin 5-inch

After a prolonged period of development and proof firing, we now have a worthy version of this weapon.

Produced on our latest hi-res equipment, these feature a 3-part construction- mount base, recuperator/recoil cylinders, and barrels. The last can be easily replaced with brass barrels (no surgery), though we don't think you'll need to.

As usual, the guns are fully pose-able. So whether you're being harassed by Wildcats, dive-bombed by SBD's, or need to fend off a flight of torpedo-laden Avengers, you can cost-effectively put up at least a realistic representation of fleet air defense.

A limited quantity of these are being offered at the introductory price of $4.95/ 4-pc set, reflecting our newest higher speed and capacity equipment.

Regards,

Good to know that these are also available! Will you do also the 13 mm twins?

Do you plan to do also some French guns? E.g. the 37 mm twins?

I will see how these stack up to the 5 Star and Rainbow Type 89s on my Kongōs.

I was wondering, though, why you do not make versions of these that allow the easy use of turned-brass barrels... I suppose the same thing could be said of all other gun mounts you make that are larger than a 3" gun.

While I really liked the 5"/25s I got for my USS San Francisco, I found that sometimes there can be slight warpage in the barrels. I usually manage to straighten it out with some hot water. But I do worry about breaking the barrels.

But these are beautiful for guns ready for action (with the shutters open).
