Hello Bruno, wondering what is happening with the secondary turrets.

Cheers

Hello!
Sorry for the delay. I just asked Mélaine about.
Present status of this product is:
- PE: done
- 3D prototyping: planned for early July
- mold casting: planned for early August
- metal barrels: done but still in the mail from our supplier (Master)
- production in late August
ETA is from early September and before Telford Scale Model Show in November where this kit will be available on our stand.

Cheers from hot and sunny La Rochelle, France
_Bruno

Hello Bruno,

November is getting close, was hoping there were posts of photos either on here or on your website but have not seen anything to date. Anyhow, I hope the turrets are completed and just waiting for the model show for a release announcement...

Cheers

These turrets are now under final production, however too short to be issued for Telford. They'll appear on l'Arsenal 2.0 site just after Telford or by early December along with another Yamato surprise part.

Hello,
I just got from l'Arsenal a new ETA which slipped into 2016 due to overloaded manufacturing chain:
Yamato main turrets: January, 2016
Secondary turrets: February, 2016

In fact I've seen and handled the resin part for main turrets (a very nice casting) earlier this month but I suspect they've unexpected delay in getting the accompanying PE.

Any further updates on the secondary turrets?

Sorry, but due to overcrowded production line at l'Arsenal and some unexpected delays on kits planned before the Yamato turrets will be postponed to late May to make room for our 1:700 HMS Jamaica, due for April, which is a complex kit.
As for the Yamato stuff, design is done, 3D printing of masters is done, turned barrels and PE are on the ways from the manufacturers. Just trying to find a place in l'Arsenal schedule for production.
Thank you for patience.

_Bruno

They're available at last (set of two)

From her commissioning in 1941 to 16 January 1944, Yamato was equipped with four secondary 155mm triple turrets :
- Two on each side of the battleship, without tripod aerial mast.
- One on the ship stern with a small non rotating tripod aerial mast.
- One just behind the two front main 460mm turrets with a large non rotating aerial mast.
Barrels can be fitted with or without blast bags.

After her early January 1944 refit, Yamato lost her two side 155mm for more AA guns. Her equipment was:
- One 155mm triple turret on the ship axis aft with a small non rotating tripod aerial mast.
- One 155mm triple turret just behind the two front main 460mm turrets with a large non rotating aerial mast.
Barrels can be fitted with or without blast bags.

Includes resin part for 2 turrets, 6 brass guns and photo etch. TWO sets are required for an early Yamato.

Ok, since my optempo has wound down I'm back at it again. Working on the secondary guns I couldn't help notice that the Stops (or blast bag limiters) are not correct, parts 10 and 11. On my set, they are solid where there should be no material, I've included a pic. Does anybody else who purchased this set have the same thing?

Thanks

Obviously those parts are wrongly etched and should be "open".
Please ask Melaine at larsenal2.0@gmail.com for a corrected part.
I will inquire about to correct the flaw.
