Didn't bother making an announcement of our last release, they were mostly 1:35 items and of little interest here on a ship board.
Couple items were actually for ship scales

Machined bells, come with several different types of mounting (PE)
Image
Actually 2 different sizes, the small ones are really small. These are for both 350 and 700 scales
Image

1:350 multi use masts. Different types of ratlines and joining method for upper and lower mast sections, 3 masts per package.
Image
The same machined masts are packaged also for 1:700 scale snowrig. Again, different ratline and spar choices. Masts are used as whole length for these, instead of needing to be cut then rejoined.
Image

1:350 IJN searchlights. Each package includes 8 2Kw lamps in transparent resin, 8 30cm searchlights, and 6 90cm searchlights.
Also comes with PE bases for larger searchlights, to modify kit plastic. The big ones came with newer plastic kits are usually decent, no point redoing them.
Image

Toolboxes and tools for 1:24, 35 and 48. Those building big PT or Sboats might find them useful
Image
Assorted buckets in those 3 scales. These sample builds were all 1:35
Image

...

Couple items coming in our next release. I'm testing 1:350 cranes, just finished these 1:700.
Image

50t port crane of USN. Waiting on resin parts for 2 other types. After these I think we've done most of the common USN port cranes from WWII.
Image

YD-25. This isn't the right pontoon. Some people might recognize the pontoon and figure out what we're doing after these USN stuff :heh:
Anyway, yall know there were quite a few with the same crane, different machine houses. We'll model some other versions later on.
Image

Small (50t) Japanese hammerhead.
Image
They built this same baby cranes at various shipyards
Image

Japanese 60t luffing crane. Working on 1:350 version of this.
Image

USN boarding ladders and scaffolding platforms. This set comes with like 10 different types of gangways/brows. Only the scaffoldings needed testing, didn't bother building the rest. Both modern and WWII types included.
Image

Next release should be end of May.

thanks biggles :)

That's a collapsible 25t Bjorn, we modeled one similar in our service crane set 1. I don't have machine housing and support like that though, will look into it.

I've got several of your 1/700 USN cranes, and I've enjoyed building them. Still have the Pearl Harbor hammerhead in the stash, although I might get to it next month. I'm hoping for 1/350 versions of some of those. (Yes I know the prices are proportional to the area, unfortunately :heh: but I'm ok with that.) im finding the 1/350 to be more fun, since I can actually see what I'm doing!

By the way, those accommodation ladders are quite nice. I've only used a couple of them so far, but the parts are, like the crane kits, exquisite.

These cranes in 1/350 would be insta-buys for me.

that's what we kept hearing, and we're working on 1:350 versions of these cranes. We'll bring all the floating cranes and barges to 1:350 scale too.
advantage of a larger scale goes beyond ease of construction, they can be more accurate, and more intricate. I had to ignore many support pieces in 1:700 since they would had been too small to position, and line widths are often exaggerated to obtain necessary material strength.

As said, area (of the etch) and price can be of concern, but they do carry some value when one considered size of the model. Stuff like YD-25 would also had looked rather impressive standing alone, I'd think :)

The pearl harbor crane is one of my favorite too. There was also one at newport news, where they also had a 350t, same as the brooklyn/norfolk crane.

I'll buy every crane you make in 1/350....and I look foreward to doing so.

Cool. Will they be all PE like the 1/700 versions, or will resin be introduced for some components? In 1/700 making the crane's parts all in PE makes sense, but in 1/350 some parts might be better off in resin especially if its large solid shape.

pontoons for the floating cranes are resin of course, and little chunky things like bollards and vents.
PE just for things that are rectangular. Some the machine housings can have too many curvatures, those we give resin and PE surface details to stick onto them. We do that for 1:700 too, like our trains and houses. Couple of the service cranes will also have resin housing.

Alliance Modelworks - Really fantastic detail!! Very impressive!!

Any plans for 1:200 accommodation ladders, boat booms, aircraft crane - for IOWA class models? The Trumpeter aircraft kit crane is NOT what NEW JERSEY or the other sisters carried in the '50s forward - those were modified with gusset material between the tubular frames - something not modeled by current PE providers.

Anyhow, might be something to consider.

TBH, we don't have plans for 1:200 scale at the moment.
These accessories are oriented towards waterline models, and probably wouldn't be popular in 1:200, due to nature of the scale.

they will be available in 1:350 of course.

Which ship we see below the masts with the ratlines?
