Got my Nelson detail set yesterday, Hats off to you guys at Pontos!

It looks like just about everything that would be in a regular +advanced set for the other 1/200 ships is all there... I like that A LOT better. :thumbs_up_1:

Since it appears that there won't be a Merit 1/200 USS Enterprise is there any chance of you coming out with a kit to make the existing Merit 1/200  Hornet kit into the Big E?

Kim, just wondering if you guys are going to put out a detail set for the new 1/200 Rodney kit as well?

Thanks Kim... I'm really enjoying your Nelson set and it's building up beautifully so far.

Image

Just FYI, the Nelson 20mm gun bases seem to be just a bit too tall and look overscale on some of Nelson's smaller gun platforms... they'd be perfect if they were the same height as in the Missouri/Iowa sets. Might be something to look at on the Rodney...

Nice Work.
Our all 20mm are 10% is larger than real one.so it is about 1/180 scale.
And 40mm bofors also 10% bigger and other guns are also oversized because for presenting the scale effects.
Especially 20mm pedestal base of Nelson is taller than Iowa's because it is the same height with prolonged of Iowa's pedestal axis. Gun barels, housings and so on are same with Iowa's.

But I am sorry the results are seems quite bigger than we expect...

20mm of Rodney will use same thing of Iowa's based on research.

Thank you
Keumho Kim

In light of the discussion in this thread, I wonder if the taller 20mm pedestals are suitable for the stepped tubs on C turret only, while shorter pedestals are required for non-stepped positions.

I just installed the last Nelson porthole available and it seems that there are simply not enough of them. If you want to install Pontos portholes just on the superstructure, you will have at least 4 times that many left. However, if you want to install them on the hull as well there are about 20-30 missing.

Mr Kim - is that a manufacturing mistake or you just simply did not thought about the hull? Also, please check your PM inbox - I left you a message :wave_1:
