Now some many users wish to change small funnel fret (#6) to Large front Funnel(#5).
And we have stocked extra #5 frets.
I have not replied yet for these request because it kills to much time for me for relying with English(as my mother is Korean).

To change might not be efficience in shipping cost for return.
So I would send #5 fret with 10USD Paypal including shipping cost(without tracking number service).
So please send email again with postal address(I would not reply all email) and paypal directly.
Our paypal ID is payment@hobbydecal.com
I will ship #5 fret as getting payment by Paypal.

Thank you
Keumho Kim

Hi Chris,

The aft funnel base was not the same as the forward one - it was squared off aft. The 1/350 kit is correct in this respect - as seen in the background funnel here

I've never seen any pics of the squared funnel base though...

Didn't Frank post some earlier in this thread? I'm sure I saw some on here?

May have missed it! As far as I know there are a few drawings of the aft funnel and a walkway in front of the disinfector house (small building just aft of the second funnel.

Yes, Frank and I posted something on this earlier. I'm still not sure that the base should be squared off though. I believe that the walkway that blocks the funnel base needs to be cut out and replaced with a new walkway that sits over the funnel base as I think the walkway was added later in her life.

Here is the definitive word from Frank regarding the aft funnel base as it currently stands.

I've been to the museum in Glasgow and seen the builder's model and forgot to look at the funnel base in detail in person.

It looks like it's would be safe enough just to square off the base without extending the tangents out like the 1/350?

The wait was worth it! The Trumpeter kit has good "bones" and this detail set is absolutely spectacular. I think we may have the ultimate 1/200 project here. :thumbs_up_1:

I ordered the large funnel fret too, thank for offering this option Kim!

Sovereign Hobbies, you are wrong that everyone wants to build only one so need to get it right. I built Hood as soon as I could get hold of the kit and like a fool I used the only PE ug set available at the time and I have regretted it ever since as the MK1 PE set is nowhere near as good as any Pontos sets. I built Nelson and am building Rodney using Pontos PE ug sets and they are, to me, perfect. I have just received my 2nd Hood and I am in the process of getting various parts ready to receive the Pontos PE ug set when I get that.
Though I will complete Rodney before I turn my hand to Hood the 2nd. My father named me after the ship that destroyed Bismark and I have always been impressed with the two ships as they embodied the might of the RN at the time.

Rod, so what will you do with your first Hood once you complete the second kit? If you reproduce the HMS Hood's final battle and blow it up, we all want video. :)

Hi Rod, that's a good basis to name a son I think :thumbs_up_1:

You're probably the exception that proves the rule though with regards to building two of these :heh:
