The ITALIA Arctic expedition of 1928 followed that of the Norge lead by Roald Amundsen of Norway in 1926. This time however, General Umberto Nobile strove for an all-Italian effort with a brand new 'ship. Successful in getting to the North Pole after some excellent scientific work in the region, tragedy then struck the team. There followed one of the biggest international combined aircraft and surface vessel rescue responses the world has ever seen. For the full story please go to... http://www.classicairships.com/n4-italia-full-story/

The "N4 ITALIA" is the third in my "Shed Kits" range and is now available HERE

Yes, that Italia kit is very interesting!

I have also built Krasin, although not such a nice model and diorama as Jim has built:

I plan to built some other ships related to the Italia expeditions and the search for the survivors, e.g. Italia's supply ship Città di Milano (plans available), the Norwegian coast defence ship Tordenskjold (HP Models), Swedish freighter Tanja (plans available, equipped with Heinkel He 5 available by Classic Airships), Danish polar ship Gustav Holm (plans available), French cruiser Strasbourg (HP Models)... The airship itself should not be missing!
