"Sale", that is...

Based on customer requests, we've put together a ship-class set for all you WWII-Essex class fans, and it will be on sale for awhile.

18X 40-mm Bofors Quad Mounts
60X 20-mm Oerlikon cannons (single pedestal-mounts)
2X Mk 37 FCS Directors
15X Mk51 Light AA Directors
Piece-price of this set is significantly reduced vs. parts purchased separately

(Similar parts are U701, U705, U710, U713, U741, & U751)

Note: If you need twin-20-mm guns, or 20-mm tripod mounts for your ship, indicate quantities to be substituted in the "Comments" part of your order.

Regular price for this item is $34.95
To introduce this set, a limited quantity will be discounted by $10.00, to $24.95

Availability is 04/01/17, so check us out on April Fool's Day. No kidding!

Darn it, I was about to order this set until I noticed that it was 1/700, not 1/350! :heh:

That's a great idea! You should do something similar for the Yorktown class.

In case anyone hadn't noticed, 3DModelParts has also had sets like this available for USN Cruisers, USN Fast Battleships, and the HMS Ark Royal for a while now. Excellent stuff, indeed!

I've personally rather enjoyed using the spotting tops, 5"/51 casemate guns, and Arizona splinter shields on my Arizona and Pennsylvania builds. (Supplementing the Model Monkey superstructures and funnels, of course) Highly recommended!

In process! Possibly for end of April. At least two versions are needed- pedestal-based 5"/38's for CV-5 &- 6, and base-ring mounts for CV-8. I'm still trying to run down definitively whether Hornet had splash shields on her 5"38's.

A similar set for CV-7 Wasp, (with that single Quad 40-mm), is in the pipeline as well.

Is there a set for 1/700 Iowa class battleships during the war. I'm thinking USS Missouri at the end of the war using the Fujimi USS New Jersey kit.

Brian,

Try P/N U799 - Fast Battleship Set. There are 5"/38 twins, 40-mm Bofors, 20-mm Oerlikons, and Mk 37 FCS with Mk 51 directors. They're for Iowa, South Dakota, and North Carolina classes.

Regards,

-Carl
