I have added three more "Deutsche Marine-Luftschiffe" to my CLASSIC AIRSHIPS shop, all are available in either 1:700 or 1:600scale...

L70, the first X-Type and finest of all the WW1 Zeppelins

L57, W-Type and first choice for the great African adventure but wrecked before she got underway. (L59, already in the shop, quickly replaced her.)

L53 Class, Staaken built V-Type "Height Climbers"

My objective is to cover all of the German naval service airship types that operated during WW1

I have also added the British R36 to the shop, designed during the Great War but not completed until after the Armistice.

R36 is already in the shop in 1:1250 scale. The Zeppelins above will be also included in my 1:1250 range over the next few months.

Happy modeling!

Derek

Interesting collection! Do you plan also Schütte-Lanz-type ones?

I do want to model at least one of the Schûtte-Lanz airships but it has proven difficult to get enough information together. However, there is some really useful detail of the SL-20 Class in the latest edition of the Douglas Robinson "Zeppelin in Combat" book. Additionally, I only recently found out that there is a translation into English of "Luftschiffbau Schütte-Lanz 1909 – 1925” by Johan Schutte which I have just ordered. With these references to hand I am hoping that I will be able to do something before the year is out.

Thank you for the information! It appears to be realistic that all the Imperial German Navy's airships could be built in 1/700 at some point.
