Cool stuff - interested to see the results. I'm not sure what level of detail you go to, but if it's as detailed as the 1/350 kits available in the market now that will be quite impressive.

And what would be the final retail price for non-crowdfunders when it is publicly out ?

I posted this in the USS Chicago thread as well. I am really trying to get these projects off the ground, I was told that I could get digital versions of the blueprints only to be told a few months later by the vendor that he doesn't have them... and I can not find anyone who will scan the printed blueprints for me.

So, I am struggling to get detailed drawings in a digital format for all three ships to my engineer. I have been going back and forth with vendors for months now and its taking weeks just get a response. We are making due with some low detail drawings to get the general hull shapes, but progress not moving at the pace I wanted to. Once I can get my engineer, Sam, detailed DIGITAL drawings that he can put into CAD, we can really go full steam into this.

If anyone has them in a digital format, and can save me a lot of time, please let me know. But we are working to try and find a solution quickly. This is a one man company, I have 7 freelance engineers working on about 40 projects that I have to manage. So your patience is appreciated.

Some of the plans at NARA only exist in microfilm format, so it is not as simple as copying them. Atlanta is among those that are like this.

MD Silver or Floating Drydock has plans for Atlanta I am pretty sure.

Yes, FDD has highly detailed "TFW" series drawings of Atlanta in 1942 (the configuration you're looking for). Buy the plans in printed format and take them to a reprographics service (call them first to confirm they have a large-format scanner). Then provide the scanned drawings as PDFs or TIFF images to your modeler.

I have the Atlanta plans, and can get them scanned for you if you can't find a service that will do it. Just let me know!

I am working with Tracy to get the plans for me from the Archives for the Atlanta and the Chicago. I am still struggling to get digital plans for the Midway and Ranger CV-61. FDD isn't helpful as I have not found anyone to scan one of their paper plans that I bought. Paper plans don't for us.

How big are the plans? Physically? Are they smaller than 3' x 6'? How many of them? I have occasional access to an HP DesignJet, and if it fits these criteria I could investigate its use.

Again, if you need help scanning FDD plans, let me know. I have a local shop that does it for about $5 per sheet.

I'm getting the Atlanta plans scanned this week so can send your way once done - contact me via PM if you're interested.

Thanks so some great help from one of our fellow members, we were able to get the digital plans we needed and the Atlanta project is back on track!

An update on the status of the project would be welcomed.

Yeah this is getting ridiculous, we were promised regular updates. So far no updates coming on their behalf unless you contact them. The last update we got was because I contacted them. I just contacted them again.
