Hello Fellow modelers and ship enthusiasts! My name is Jaime DuPont and I am the president of a small company called True North Paints LLC. I started this company three years ago with my good friend Joe Belding with the desire to make oil based enamel paints that were becoming difficult or impossible to find. We are modelers first and foremost. And we make these paints to give modelers an option for finishing their models that many of us grew up with.
We currently offer 83 Federal Standard matching paint colors, 5 metallic enamels, and over 70 paint colors from World War II, centering on United States Navy and Royal Navy paint colors. We just this week finished our Allied Naval paints with the introduction of the USN "greens".
We are always expanding and next up with be our IJN and DKM naval paint colors, hopefully by September. We are also going to bring back some of the floquil colors, though not in the traditional xylene base. We have an onine store where you can purchase our paints and we go to many of the IPMS model shows in the New England area of the United States where we set up our booth and our entire line is available.
So about our paints-
We sell our paints in a very familiar 1/2 ounce bottle, but instead of 15 ml we fill to 16 ml. For store owners this makes it very convienient to stock shelves you probably already own.
Our paints are alkyd oil based. They are sold in paint brush consistency, and can be cut with any enamel thinner or mineral spirits for airbrushing. We do sell our own thinner mix that we have specifically tailored to our paint and for best results we recommend it.
Our colors are painstakingly matched to original chips, and with the FS# matching paints we use the actual pigment formulas to make the same paint the military and government services use.
Our paints bond just like older oil based enamels. No pulling up with the tape. Better durability over time.
We have formulated our paints with incredible self leveling for brush painters.

Please check out our website at www.truenorthpaints.com, and please dont hesitate to ask questions.

Best Regards,

Jaime DuPont
President True North Paints LLC

Hi Rodger,

Unfortunately we will not be at nationals this year. Its a long hike from Bangor, Maine to Phoenix. We are planning to attend next year in Tennessee however.
