PRE-ORDER: 1/700 HMS 'CVA-01' Injected Plastic Kit from IHP

IHP is planning to produce a 1/700 scale injected plastic kit of the cancelled British fleet carrier CVA-01 from 1966.

A quote has been obtained from our manufacturer in China and Pre-Orders are being taken. If enough are received by 1 October 2020, we will go ahead with the project. If not, we will refund all orders in full. If the project goes ahead, delivery will be in early 2021.

MSRP is $69.95. Shipping will be calculated and solicited when the kits are in stock.

Some images of the parts for the CVA-01 as they were sent to the manufacturer. Some minor changes may still be made but this is the kit as designed.

First week of preorders is pretty good, considering. 1 October 2020 is the order deadline, after which we will decide if we have enough preorders to make the tooling and order kits.

The October 1st deadline has now passed. Did you raise enough crowdfunding funds to start production?

IHP had a recent posting on Facebook that said pre-orders were over a hundred but not enough. He said he will let it run for a few more months in hope of reaching 300 which might be enough to go forward with the kit. I'm not sure he will get enough but I hope he does as I ordered one and would like to add it to my fleet but I'm not holding out a lot of hope at this point.

Latest news is that we will be trying to make the CVA-01 happen, and the deadline is now a target. If we can get a minimum of 250 kits pre-sold, we will be in a better position to be able to make the kits. Right now we have about 120 kits presold, so we have a ways to go.

This kit will only be available from IHP via pre-order; it will not be available through dealers. The price is right, so consider buying more than one, if only to have one as an investment when it becomes rare later on
