From the instructions, the 127,128,129,131,132,133 are all parts for the torpedo net defense booms

This is directed to Pontos models.
I'm progressing with my construction, but indeed there are many PE parts that are not
shown in the supplied instructions.
Could we have the updated instructions please?

I also have found the instructions hard to read and incomplete. I sent an E-mail to Pontos two months ago outlining the things I found. According to a Pontos post on this forum, a revised instruction sheet would be available, so I have held off posting my list. Again, that was two months ago. So, here is my list with corrections. Updates are posted in color. If anyone can add to it, that would be great. I do like the set and hopefully an updated instruction sheet will be available soon.

The following PE parts are not shown on the instructions:
12 - rear superstructure railing?
31 - shown on updated post from Pontos on this thread
32 - shown on updated post from Pontos on this thread
33 - shown on updated post from Pontos on this thread
40 - unknown
46 - unknown
52 - search lights?
56 - unknown
68 - unknown
105 - unknown
112 - unknown
114 - unknown - replace kit ladder 43?
115 - unknown
116 - unknown
127 - unknown
128 - unknown
131 - unknown
132 - unknown
166 - unknown
169 - unknown
177 - antenna spreaders?
178 - unknown
184 - unknown
186 - unknown
187 - unknown

In addition to this, I have found the following problems.

The instructions show the placement for two PE part # 113s, but three are provided. Is the third 113 a spare?

PE part # 129 is shown as two different parts on the instructions.

There are no PE parts # 148 and 149 on the fret or the instructions.

PE parts 179, 180 and 185 call for multiple copies to be made on the instructions, but do not detail where they go.

The placement of PE parts # 14 and # 200 are transposed.

Shaun

Hi, I have a spare Pontos wooden deck for 1/350 Dreadnought if anyone wants it (just cover the postage). It was actually packed in the box for the Pontos Warspite Detail set in error so there aren't any deck fittings with it. I'd already bought the Warspite deck separately before I decided to buy the detail set so the fact it was wrong didn't matter to me. PM me if interested. John.

I have recently purchased the Trumpeter Dreadnought kit and would like to know if the Pontos upgrade for the Zevezda kit is
compatible with the Trump kit. Having used the Warspite upgrade from Pontos, I was hoping to once more use their excellent
product on another project.

Tim,
I reply at this thread...
Our Dreadnought detailup set (35002F1) is only for Zvezda kit.
But we will release similar detail up set for Trumpeter Dreadnought Detail Up set at early 2013.
Thank you
Kim

Hi Admiral
Thanks for the info. Regarding the Trumpeter Dreadnought kit, it is still in the box. Have had a quick look inside and what i see
looks pretty good. That being said, i have not seen the Zvezda kit so a comparison is not possible. As you may have read, Kim
from Pontos says a dedicated detail set for the Trump kit is due for release in 2013. Am wishing my life away already !!!.

Have Trumpeter Kit ready for starting. You stated late 2012 that a dedicated detail set for this kit would be ready sometime early 2013.
Do you have a rough idea when this will be available?. (You did say that your Zvezda upgrade was not compatible with the Trump. kit).
Yours in anticipation.
Tim.

Dear Kim,

Could you please specify details for which the Pontos set doesn't match the Trumpeter kit instead of Zvezda one.

Regards,
Harry

Kim,

Thanks a lot for quick response. But I'm worrying about my order, in which Dreadnought from Trumpeter & your set for Dreadnought will come. Would I be able to assemble this ship with such kit & set?

Regards,
Harry

Harry,
I am sorry our current Dreadnought set(35002F1) was released before Trumpeter's one.
So this set is just for Zvezda kit.

Thank you
Kim

Hello Kim,

after being very pleased with your set for Sevastopol, I bought set for HMS Dreadnought (+ Zvezda kit) too and will start in a few weeks when my current building -IJN Mikasa- is ready.

Looking in the set, there are (again as in Sevastopol set were too) some brass wires included. Can you please tell for what they should be? I found no note in instructions about and also no idea by my own...

Cheers,
Christian :-)

Hi at Pontos,
Can you tell me if there are etch replacements for kit ladders parts D41 and D42 from step 6 in Zvezda's instructions.

Thanks,
Rob.

I must say this thread has abeen an eye opener.

I'm a bit of a On/Off type modeller , and one of my views has been that its not a good idea to pay more for add on detail than the kit cost. This thread has changed that .

I have the Zvezda DREADNOUGHT in my stash , and by the Autumn so will this Pontos detail set.

P/S As I'm mainly a waterline modeller it's not normally relevant but does this set include propellors, if not does another company do them for DREADNOUGHT?

The Pontos set doesn't include propellors, but G Factor makes a set:
