I too received 6 of the promised 25 pedestals, along with no response from Pontos. Shame this had to be the topic of my first post.

Will this pontos set work with the 2005 Tamiya Yamato or does it have to be the 'New Tool'?

not 100% sure but since both kits are completely different I think most of it won't work on the older kit.

And hope I'll still get my replacement parts, really don't want to use the plastic gun barrels...it's taking a very long time now, hope they aren't belly up as mentioned...:O

Perhaps our friends at Sovereign Hobbies could try and get a reply from Pontos to post on here as all this is surely not doing sales of Pontos sets any good.

Well, I've pretty much given up on getting the shortage of the 25mm pedestals for the advanced add on set.

I was hoping that Sovereign Hobbies might have some sort of insight as to what is or may be happening at Pontos by this time, I will be going back sea again and part of that will be participating in the biggest Naval exercise of the Pacific; all you Navy types know what I speak of.

For the time being Pontos has lost a customer which is unfortunate as I like their detail sets.

Has anybody heard anything at all from Pontos.............or do we just accept that they have ceased trading ?

They have certainly stopped posting anything on this site for some time now.

I have noticed that they do drop off the radar from time to time, and the rumors about them folding have been going for a while, but the likes of Lucky Model get a shipment in every month or so. I would genuinely be surprised if they have ceased trading. More likely they are a small business who are really busy. I have the hobby shop I bought the set from chasing them down so we will know soon enough.

Given their lack of answering anyone, I have been wondering this myself. For those who have had issues with the barrels, Tamiya makes a metal replacement set.

I contacted Luckymodel recently and they said they were still trying to get hold of the replacements...they didn't mention anything about Pontos being out of business so hopefully they'll pop up again soon

Well I've followed your lead so hoping LuckyModel will have better success at contacting them than I did.

Timmy C and I never received a response let alone my parts. It was another modeller that hooked me up.

This is completely unacceptable for the manufacture to ignore requests to complete their sets. For the price paid, you should have at least gotten your moneys worth.

I planned to buy other Pontos products, but until this guy decides that the consumer matters, I will hold off and go where I know I can get help when issue arise.

I would letter grade him as F

Sorry these days some projects have cut in our previous projects and so alls schedules are come to Black hole.
I will arrange these soon.

Hello Mr Kim,

Since you are having troubles replying to customers with Gmail, like myself, I've sent you a PM.

Cheers

So I just got an email from Mr Kim that confirmed my suspicions.

The 25x pedestals is actually a typo.he admitted that
It was a misprint from the musashi set and that 6
Is actually the correct number. Makes sense because they did in fact remove most of the mounts from the
Yamato save for the 6 near the forward turrets. I encouraged him to make a post in this forum so hopefully he can officially clear this up

Yep Yamato 1945 has 6 single mounts and Musashi 1944 seems to have about 21-25 singles.
I had just copied 25 of Musashi's to Yamato brass part list.

Anyway please check the muzzle hole of 460mm barrels.
Some are centered wrongly. We have reproduced this 460mm Barrels yesterday and started to ship to individual users who have sent their postal addresses.

And recently I changed mail server newly so I can reply to Gmail, Yahoo, Comcast Etc. with few problems.
But if you need some needed parts during work, missed or broken or eaten by Carpet Monsters, please send email with your postal address as I might or could not reply all your emails.

Good luck for your work.

Thank you
Keumho Kim

Well, I'm home from a very successful RIMPAC '16 and would like to personally thank Mr. Kim for addressing my concerns with set issues and to my surprise the replacement barrels were waiting for me on my desk.

Thank you very much Mr. Kim.
