To generalize, the round bases for the single 25mm mount tended to be permanent, while the square bases were for temporary or mobile installations. It was really for flexibility of use, depending on circumstances.

first pic you post was the one i referred to
Not only wasn't the base plate fastened to the deck, the gun itself wasn't bolted onto the plate either
here we could see the circular base didn't have means to be locked onto a base plate, not from outside at least.

Good pic! The problem is that the documentation for Yamato at the end is thin on the bases for these mounts. I do agree that round bases need to be included.

Thank you for your reply.

Here is my design source of IJN type 96 25mm single MG.

Reference drawing : Anatomy of the ship "Battleship Yamato" & "Battleship Fuso"

I designed circular base and appllied already. just triangle bracket is too small.
So I did not apply the smaple.
I must consider what is most appropriate. because Here consumar is not idiot.

Thank you

This is the round base, larger than footprint of the pedestal.

So if we count the square thing as a base, there were probably 3 different ones, all larger than bottom of the pedestal.

AllianceModelWorks,

Thank you for your advice.

But this thick line means Deck itself, not circular base plate referring from Skulski’s other diagrams.
Generally this thick line(base line) was drawn for showing the height from baseline.
(For Example, seeing from E14/1, the height of muzzle center shows 1180mm)
Also this E14/1 diagram also shows 8bolts were fastened without extra circular base.
Of course I don’t think All Skulski’s diagrams or drawnigs are right.
But there is no photo showing extra circular base plate, so at this time we would not draw any extra circular base.

Thank you.

PS. I assembled again my 1/350 Type96 25mm singleMG today

it's very diffcult to be assembled because triangle bracket is too small as to pick it up.
I should make more larger to easy assembling.

I hate asking again but have not heard an answer about the possible release date of the advanced set. I already have the current set and am just waiting for the additional goodies for Pontos.

This thread seems to have been quiet for a while.

I have the Pontos 35003F1 set but am wondering if anything else is going to be released as advised earlier in the thread. I'm really likng the new AA guns that we're going to be done in the new advanced set or standalone set mentioned

I have tried googling but it always ends up bringing me back to this thread

Also is anyone able to advise which guns the 25mm short barrels are used for and which ones the 25mm long barrels are used for as the instructions aren't very clear about this.

After looking through the Tamiya instruction manual I have answered some of my questions above

Pontos kit contains;

72 x 25mm short barrels - kit has 24 shielded triple 25mm emplacements (72 barrels or short)

90 x 25mm long barrels - kit has 28 unshielded triple 25mm emplacementst (84 barrels or long) and 6 x 25mm single

So thats all the barrels accounted for with the exception of 4 x 13mm barrels mentioned on the Pontos sheet as contained in the kit but no reference to it in the build instructions

I fear that this will never happen, I have begun with my current set.

Question regards the instructions if anyone from Pontos reads this;

With Typre 89 127mm resin AA gun, in the instructions Part C is shown on its resin tree, however on the assemled picture there is no reference to Part C, can anyone shed any light on where part C goes?

Already there are some parts we have missed with watching this wreck.

Hope they open other films soon.

Thank you

Hi Mr Kim
First of all, I must say that I am very impressed about the details and quality of your detail sets as echoed by countless others from this forum. I currently have both your yamato and Kongo sets and I can't wait to start building.
I'm just wondering if you have any updates on the advanced set and when you think you will release it? do you have any more details on what extra parts will you include with this set? Will you have parts for the open 25mm gun shields? Also KA models recently released a set that has a cast chrysanthemum Crest in 14k gold. Any chance you can do something similar to that?

Hope to hear some good news soon

Hi,
We are preparing Add-on set for our 35003F1 Yamato detail set.
All 25mm triple, twin and single will be included as Kongo.
25mm Barrels included in 35001F1 can be used without duplication.
We have alredy metal screw with gold plate.
Image
And we are wating Japan Crest with gold plated fron our supplier attached on the front of Yamato.
I can't promise when this add-on set comes but we have been preparing part and part.

Thank you
Keumho Kim
