New project from Northstarmodels figures in 1/350 and 1/144
Hello, everyone! We would like to present our new project. It would be figures of officers and sailors of US navy. We are planning to make 4 different sets of 50 figures with different poses. All of the figures are made uisng 3D modeling and focused on real pictures. This one is the first sample figure. Making this one we were checking possibilities of prototyping using new equipment. Please don`t pay attention to innacuracy, because 3D model will be improving. Please suggest all poses of sailors everyone think will be interested to make.

Sailors in working poses..sailors in combat poses (i.e. sittin at 40mm gun mounts), ammo loaders, sailors using binoculars,
I would do as many different as I could to give the modelers their choice..just my 0.02 worth

Looks like Nimitz on the left, Erinie King center and Ray Spruance on the right.

Thank you for casting them standing up. I love the L'Arsenal figures in 1/350, but painting them and then detaching them from the casting block (they are cast laying down) is death on a bun.

I second action poses for sure, some relaxed poses would be good as well just as long as there is diversity. Might I also suggest you doing airmen for carriers and crew figures attending the planes, I think a 3d LSO officer would look great as well.

I would be very interested in these figures. Please keep us informed. Carrier deck crew and pilots would be great too (modern and WW-2) Groups of 50 would be perfect.

you want to do several poses such as walking, standing climbing stairs i use Fujimi japanese sailors but these are hard to find now i just paint them to suit the naval ship im doing you cant really tell the diffence between a standard sailor or an admiral at this scale you see the intended movement so you should look at the poses offered by others and dont limit yourself to one navy try making them suitable to use for every navy and you will sell more

The figure market is certainly ripe for some improvements, which is important for improving well finished ship models in my opinion, and these certainly look exceptionally good (looking at the image below). Please keep us abreast of product developemnt as I think there will be a lot of interest.

Does look good. second the point regarding being standing up.
some natural poses for bridge crew would be good, The Fujumi figures are a bit "stiff", and I break too many of the L'Arsenal figures getting them off the overpour.
looking forward to more updates

Re: New project from Northstarmodels figures in 1/350
Very impressive indeed. If the final product looks anything like this, it will be the best available (focusing on the 1/350, which is my area of interest).
In my opinion, however, and continuing to focus on the 1/350 scale figures, the poses are too static. Unless you are depicting the crew lined up for inspection, they would be of limited use on a waterlined ship "in motion". The standing sailors with their hands behind their backs could not even be used as bridge crew!
I would respectfully suggest that, if the project is not too close to completion yet, you might consider expanding/revising the poses of the figures to allow a modeller to use them in different ways - I'm sure they would be more appealing to a wider audience.

Re: New project from Northstarmodels figures in 1/350
These are the first two sets of large series of figures that we are developing:
German Navy of World War 2
1. Naval depot accepts the submarine. (45-50 figures) crew lined up in different sizes (from 160-180 cm), Carl Dennis and some other officers of kriegsmarine. 1/350, 1/144, 1/72 scale.
2. Submarine crew after the battle go home. Officers and captains at the deckhouse (deck cabin), the other crew lined up topside. (45-50 figures)
Also, we develop these figures:
US Navy of World War 2
1. Sailor`s and officer`s ceremonial set up (150-250 figures). Figures are in different sizes (original size from 160-185cm), all lined up. Figure of the officers who awards sailor or the other officer; figures of the persons who raises the US Flag at the boat, sailors and officers in different poses during the watch.

2. Pilots and maintenance personal of US aircraft carriers. Pacific theater of military operations. (30 figures of pilots in different poses, 150 figures of service staff, sailors and officers).
Japanese Navy of World War 2
1. Sailors and officers of Japanese imperial fleet, all ceremonial lined up.
2. Morning exercises on Japanese warship. (150-250 figures)
We have certain plans in making figures for ships of Russian-Japanese war (Japan and Russia), crew of modern Russian and American ships, Britain`s Navy of World War 2.
We plan to make different sets of figures in static poses and in action.

Re: New project from Northstarmodels figures in 1/350
These really look great, nice job! I wouls love to see some modern carrier crew and pilots! As others have siad, there is a TON of room for good figures in this market, and these will be well recieved! I think that a lot of our forum members don't frequent the manufacturer's thread as much, so I am sure there is a LOT more interest than what you are seeing in reply to this topic.

Northstarmodels, those are such good news! The figures in 1/350 look good. Hopefully action figures will also be fine. Are you going to produce some figures "in distress" and without head gear? That would be useful for battle installations.
