Hi all ,

Ingura has started something in his topic about the 1/100 Hamburg meeting ...

there is the idea : organize a european meeting , where british , german , dutch , french & other european modellers could or would come to show & sail their warship models .

Firstly , the option was to do this event in the Netherlands , but there are other options ...

Belgium could also be the place to be , there is a club in Limburg who organizes yearly a "grey funnel line" show in July , the infrastructures already do exist , the event either ...

hereby the 2008 event :

I'll send a message to "mister GFL" at this club , to ask him if this would be feasable or not , certainly the whereabouts the sleeping accomodations ...

any idea welcome !

Regards ,

Laurent

Hi Laurent I’ve also looking into the prospects of such an event and they do look very promising indeed .I Visited a venue on Sunday not far from the Port of Hull on the North sea east coast of the UK. The infrastructure is also very good and the club are keen to support such an event. However it’s worth looking at more than one venue and getting a general consensus based on distance to travel , cost, facilities available, size of lake , type of event. and duration of event over say 2 or 3 days Either Belgium or the Netherlands and the UK venue has the manpower. There is a large warship following in the UK with a number of organizations supporting specialist interest groups. Laurent let me know how you get on? This could be a very popular event for Europe and attract a good many warship enthusiasts.

For all those interested, either side of the channel . The first European "Grey Ships" international meeting can proceed in 2010 . A club has come forward with a good venue , good facilities , good water and only 35k from the ferry terminal at Hull just off the M62 motorway and not far from the M1 Motoway. More details when available.
