Greetings - I'm proud to announce that my IPMS chapter, Wright Field Scale Modelers, will host the 2012 IPMS Region 4 Convention and it's coming up soon! It will will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 13 & 14, 2012, at the Hope Hotel and Conference Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

The event will be held just minutes away from one of the top military museums in the world, the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Highlights of the two-day show will include a huge vendor area, modeling seminars, a “Make ‘N Take” for young modelers, and a tour of the restoration hangar at the Air Force Museum. The contest site, the Hope Hotel, will offer on-site dining and concessions and a special room rate of $70 + tax per night.

There will be over 75 total contest categories, including many special awards. I'm personally sponsoring an award for Best German Warship, so hope to see many U Boats, S Boats, Bismarcks and Scharnhorsts!

Great! It looks like we will have a nice representation of ships by the time the judging starts. Still possible to enter contest - registration will be open from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 14.

We're pretty pleased with our vendor room as well - lots of cool stuff.
