Hello everyone,

For UK based warship enthusiasts and for anyone that may be visiting the UK in July...

The Scottish Model Warship Association are pleased to announce the 7th National Warship weekend will be hosted once again by GRMBC and will take place at Richmond Park Glasgow on the weekend of 12/13th of July 2014.
Exciting new displays both on and off the water are being planned and a number of traders will be in attendance.
Could I ask all clubs/individuals who wish to attend the event please let us know your requirements regarding tables. We intend to hold the off water displays in gazebos as in previous years as this has proved most popular.
Please check the GRMBC website

http://www.glasgowrichmondmbc.co.uk/

for directions to the event.
More details Re. start time, clubs and traders attending will be posted soon
We look forward to seeing you all there.

Here are some photos from last years event:-

All the best
Sandy

I hope we can see a strong turn out from UK based modellers this year. Given that there were visitors all the way to Belgium in 2013 perhaps folk a little closer might consider coming north for one of th best organised events I've ever attended.
I'll be there for sure, especially if the 2013 weather on the Costa Clyde can be repeated :)

Hi Sandy and Doug

Fantastic pictures of the Glasgow club event. I was very sad to have missed this. They do give a great taste of what will be seen on (and off) the water at this years National Warship Weekend 12th 13th July.

I understand the contingent from Belgium will again be attending. Good for them. I was most impressed with their little RC models.

This event gets bigger and better each year. I hope someone at the club has remembered to book the "deck curling" sunny weather like last year!

I understand from Colin that there are suggestions available regarding convenient hotel accommodation for visitors. Maybe this will help warship fans who are travelling a distance and are not familiar with the Glasgow geography.

Looking forward to this premier UK model warship event. See you there.

Hi all

This link to a video is "Hot Off The Press" and gives some good shots of the wonderful little working models on display at last years Scottish National Warship Weekend.

Can't wait till the 12th and 13th July to see what new models turn up for this premier UK event.

Thanks for the comments. The footage was shot from a camera mounted tug which is in regular use at events.

Why not plan a visit to Scotland next year and come along to the Warship Weekend. We hope to have another visitor from Bradford Ontario for the 2015 event. Everyone is made welcome.

I will post a link here to the edited footage of the 2014 Warship Weekend as soon as it's available.

Good modelling....

Hi all

The 7th National Warship Weekend was a huge success with a fantastic turn out. There were some excellent models both on and off the water. Check this link for more pictures of the event. www.glasgowrichmondmbc.co.uk

Mark it in your diary for next year.

Hi all

Great pictures and a great show. Lets all do our best to promote it for 2015. It would be fantastic to see even more models, let's face it it's a big lake with plenty of space. A bit more support from south of the border would be good. Those English modellers just don't know what they are missing. There is nothing as good as this in England!

Did anyone else get any good pictures?

I'm off to build something new to sail at the 2015 event.

Great event as always, not to be missed each year, especially with the now traditional Glasgow sunshine!
It would be good to see some of our southern neighbours though, Glasgow isn't quite as far as many may think and you'll be made most welcome.
