Has anyone heard of any efforts to produce a new tool injection-molded USS Arizona in 1/350? As far as I know, the old Banner/MHM/Trumpeter is the only option, but I hear it isn't the greatest kit. I don't understand why no one has redone a 1/350 kit of such a famous and popular subject.

Probably because no one wants to go through another round of "why another Arizona when we have so many Royal Navy ship kits that haven't been done yet?"

I'd like to see a new-tool in 1/700. Dragon's the best so far, but it leaves a lot to be desired. Probably won't see a new one for the same above reasons.

I would like to see Trumpeter release a new Arizona 1/350. The banner kits are a minor retool of the old revel kit. Garbage really. I'm not rivet counter either.

Agreed! Also, while we're at it, how about Dragon's 1/350 Pennsylvania that was dangled in front of us oh-so-many years ago?

Yeah dragon disappointed me quite a bit regarding USS Pennsylvania. I wonder why they backed out of it.

They didn't back out of "it" - they backed out of ships and plastic models in general, other than armor. There were a lot of projects they had in the fire that were almost done what, three years ago now that have stopped. Their Star Wars kits also haven't seen any recent activity, despite them pushing them pretty heavily during development.

Dragon has become pretty disappointing lately. They seem to be relying heavily on sprues from previous kits with a few new-tooled parts to make a different version, with only the odd completely new-tooled kit (which aren't always up to par with other current companies).

I'd like to see a kit of Arizona as originally built.

Agreed, as well as some of the other ships "of the era" like the South Carolina class.
