Hello again,

just wondering if anyone knows who can supply 1/350 or 1/700 signal flag decals? Hawk Graphics/ResinShipyards seem to be defunct as I haven't had any reply to an email about ordering some items. It looks to be quite hard tracking down this particular type of item on the internet too - most regular suppliers don't seem to stock them.

Cheers
GrahamB

One of the best features of the Midship Models re-pops of Skywave kits (and their own destroyer kits) was an excellent sheet of signal flags. It is now packaged as a Blue Ridge Models product.

Go to the Freetime website and select manufacturer=Blue Ridge Models and type=Decals.

Great product, great price.
Rick

Hi Rick,

many thanks for this. I did look at the Freetime site (and others) but they may have been out of stock for 1/350 signal flags. I'll have another search though. :)

Cheers

building
HMS Gorleston 1/350 WEM/Atlantic Models - nearly there
SMS Derfflinger 1/700 Flyhawk - nearly there
HMS Commonwealth 1/700 Combrig (King Edward VII class) - some fiddly stuff to do yet.

If I recall correctly, Lion Roar made 1/700 signal flag decal years ago. I don't know if it is still in production.
Have a look here:

It seems that Rainbow is one option, usually eBay's Downgrocery store has Rainbow items, if I am not mistaken.

Sprue Brothers have a couple sheets in stock:

I don't know how much this helps since I see that you are building 3 RN ships, but it might. They also have IJN sheets available.

If you have the originals you can scan them and reprint as needed on decal paper,or you can use clear coat in 2-3 light mists to keep them together when applying. Just my thoughts!

Thanks for the replies and link to Sprue Brothers. I was going to go down the route of making them from sections from other decals, with or without roll-up cigarette paper (this has worked before). I don't have a colour printer any more which makes things a little more difficult. Now to find and finalize a suitable convoy signal! Cheers, GrahamB
