Yes, indeed. The old versions fit like sh*t.

1/700

HMS Belfast 1959 top - TRP 06702

HMS Belfast 1942 bottom - TRP 06701

Found in Chinese language thread discussing the new Trumpeter catalogue.

Should make some of my fellow enthusiasts happy.

Encouraging but I won't do any woohoo's until it's listed in one of their monthly product updates!

Happy? Not if they release the HMS Belfast with that chubby bridge deck!

Compare the replacement upper bridge deck in the WEM HMS Belfast upgrade kit (which is also chubby--and is incorrect), with that in the Flyhawk upgrade kit:

https://www.whiteensignmodels.com/p/WEM ... c8glWjMI2w

https://www.modellversium.de/kit/artikel.php?id=9723

Can someone tell Trumpeter about this? It's not too late to correct the problem.... If not, some aftermarket 3D manufacturer will be making a lot of money off of us.

Best,

Mike E.

Found this link in a Facebook cooment on Flyhawk's forthcomming HMS Ajax. Interesting, the two French cruisers are a surpise and the County class Cruisers appear to have been droped from the 2022 releases. On usual Flyhawk form I am going for 4 being released this year in addition to Ajax, but which 4....

Those coming models from Flyhawk are not worth much. The tend to change every year and the models just don´t appear.

Last year (or the year before) the had HMS Martin and HMS Mendip, none have been released.

We will just have to wait and see.

Looking how they move from photos to design shots to releases (Ajax was previewed 4 years ago as 3D), I think - Ajax and hope to see Duke of York (also previewed as 3D) and Tirpitz (as we have PoW and Bismarck - and Scharnhorst was fast followed by Gneisenau). Dunno about rest. More French and Italian stuff is welcome.

They are clearly doing this for marketing and research by announcing a ton of stuff ahead of schedule. They can count the mentions on forums etc to gauge interest and adjust, considering they only do very little new tooling per year.

Do you really think Flyhawk (or any company for that matter) check clubs and forums to see what people want? If they did, kit releases would be very different from what they actually are. Maybe they check, but just go ahead and produce what they want!

I just wish Flyhawk would take the plunge and give us the 1/350 HMS Prince of Wales as a new tool Kit
and allow me to build a replacement for the 1986 Tamiya Kit ( which fits together really nice , but would need a Pontos detail up set
to make it modern and realistic .

I heard a rumour it might be 2 years away ( or more ) from fruition ( if it ever appears )

Still waiting for Moltke. Glad it’s on the 2022 list. Maybe this year?

How hard is it to write an algo to check mentions. Add World of Warships stuff to the mix - mentions, reviews, etc.

how do the people selling kits on their site decide what they inventory? I know that Bismarck, Missouri and Yamato take the cake, and then it is turtles all the way down, so may be youre right and it isnt too scientific, but I hope there is some thought process to the business.

Assuming "Lamotte-Picquet" is the name of a ship?

Yes, it is. The second of three ships in the Duguay-Trouin class of light cruisers.

And for some reason, Flyhawk appears to want to release it (and also La Gloire which makes me happy).

Middle column, fourth one down:

Wondering why the RM Da Mosta would be on Flyhawks list I found that it was sunk by the Aurora, Penelope and Lively their previous kits. I'd get one
