I see Pitroad's 1/700 IJN destroyer Shimakaze is on the list, ETA seems to be Aug-Sep 2014 according to the latest 2014/6 Model Art.
Note that this will be in the late-1944 fit, with radar and extra AA mounts, whoohee, lots of controversy coming up!

However, I do not see the 1/700 CVN-65 USS Enterprise in 1969 fit that Platz is going to bring out, ETA I think is late 2014.

The Shizuoka Hobby Show will at least have a couple of really interesting kits to see (hopefully the 1/700 Barham too, which should be out in June).

But Barham has been out since last year...or is in another 1/700 QE class (Malaya? 1943 QE? :please:) you're referring to?

I'm hoping for some new 1/350 kits from the Japanese manufacturers, and not the ones I've already pre-ordered on HLJ.

Not here in Japan, apparently.

Ahhh....the Pitroad packaging of the kit! :doh_1: Understood...

In the reverse situation, the 1944 Colorado has been released by Pitroad in Japan, but not by Trumpeter in the rest of the world.

But, Now the doubt is, they corrected the lower hull?

Seems to me Dragon's zerstörers has the wrongest lower hull at stern area when compared with Trumpeter and Zvezda. :anyone:

Best Regards,

Ricardo

Anyone have any clues what's going on with the new Aoshima 1/350 Maya?

Dragon had it listed for presale with a March delivery date, and I ordered one. Then the date was changed to April, and now it's gone from Dragon's site altogether.

Same here. I preordered it from DragonUSA late last year when it showed release of January, then it bumped to March which was the last I checked and then saw it disappear completely off the website (along with the accompanying PE set which I also pre-ordered in the same order.) I contacted Dragon about it recently and this was their response:

"We apologize for the delay on your order. We just received an update from our manager and we are received both of the items in less than 2 months, thank you."

The bad English is theirs. I assume it means they're saying they're still planing to get them within next 2 months.

Get thee behind me!!

I am so tempted :heh:

I wonder to what extent this and some other recent releases are related to the upcoming centennial of the Great War? Will we see more capital (and other?) ships of that era over the next four years?

Well we got an SMS Derfflinger from Flyhawk in 1/700 and soon a SMS Lutzow also in 1/700 and in plastic. And finally besides the HMS Queen Elizabeth (even if she is a 1918 fit) and the 1/700 1915 HMS Warspite(a reboxed 1918 HMS Queen Elizabeth, shame on you for this atrocity Trumpeter) now we got the HMS Dreadnought.
Lets hope for a plastic HMS Iron Duke, HMS Tiger, SMS Kaiser and SMS Konig.

:faint: :woo_hoo: Christmas is coming early this year! A 1/700 HMS Dreadnought. Now let's see if Trumpeter decides to release an HMS Invincible (BC) 1/700 as a followup.
