Hi all,

Cybermodeler states an trumpeter 1/700 uss california for 2015!
No idea wether it is going to be an early or late war version, but great that it is comming!

Big 5 sailing in whoehoe!

Kind regards,

Henk

I'm pretty sure it's the same California (by Trumpeter) that's been listed at Stevens for awhile now, a 1941/Pearl Harbor version.

Rest assured it will be the 1941 version since the earlier kits have both the 14" and 16" turrets on the same sprues. Also the unbulged hull is available. I would also expect to see a 1941 or early 42 Colorado and the 1941 Tennessee to round out the kit line from Trumpeter. Overall the marketing approach is following the New Orleans cruiser series.

And again an example where I can become sad ... Which of these ships exist in 1/350 (aside overaged resin bricks)? None! :-(

Previous release of this was Hasegawa's circa 1999 kit, so a welcome update.

350 Gangut -- it must be a zvezda copy.

If it's a new tool kit, I really can't see Revells logic on this one? Why would anyone produce another Russian WWI Gangut class battleship, when Zvezda recently released one, and there are plenty of other interesting WWI battleships or battlecruisers. I can think of at least ten fifteen WWI or WWII ships that probably would be better sellers, both locally (Germany) and internationally.

I will not rate that it is a copy of Sevastopol ... even this could be ... but there was in the past a triangle of cooperation between Italeri, Revell and Zvezda for many things. So I'm pretty sure that Zvezda has it's fingers inside Gangut kit.
Further, how long do we wait now for the announced 1/350 "Marat" from Zvezda? Take a look on Zvezda page and you will not found her anywhere ...! ;-)

Did no one notice the Prince of Wales on that Revell link or is it just a re release of the old one since it doesn't give a scale?

The price list at the end of that post says the PoW kit is in 1/1200 scale.

PoW in 1/1200 old kit re-release?

Guys, here is all described (if we will trust that list):
http://www.ipmsdeutschland.de/FirstLook/Hersteller_News/Revell_News_2015_I.html#table2

According to the list, Gangut comes from Zvezda, and the POW is a reissue of their 1/1200 miniships series.

So let's hope that Revell does not take Zvezda "Sevastopol" into new own box and prints "Gangut" on it only and that's it! :cool_2:

I would rather revell re-release the heller avenir and Marie Jeanne instead of Le Suroit
