Me too...now that the Veryfire Missouri is further delayed to mid February ,want to see both models side by side to choose the best one, the main problem in both cases, information is really scarce .

Yes David ,lack of information, there is nothing about the model in Veryfire website , not a single photo of the real kit ,only CAD images and in the case of JoyYard ,even worst, even the website is still under construction.

Actually The Joy-yard has the real kit test already.

Great another hull that will need a lot of sanding.

The molding doesn't look too heavy--some light sanding or a few layers of primer might do the trick to bring it to a more in-scale appearance. But comparing pictures with the 3D model and test shot, it seems that the pattern is accurate, which is rather impressive.

Does the ship modelling world really need another 1/350 scale Missouri? It is a shame the company could not have chosen to produce a new kit of a ship that has not previously been released. I am sure this forum could come up with an extensive list of better options.

I won't deny that there is no shortage of alternative subjects (i.e. Dragon's stillborn 1/350 Atlanta+ Pennsylvania, the Big 5, Clevelands, etc) but seeing some of the classics done up in new tool is quite nice too. I've been waiting for a new tool Mo/Arizona for the longest time. :heh:

I am not an expert, but according to the 3D renders, the plating doesn't look too thick out of scale at all. Some pictures:

Another link that shows the 3D hull: http://www.joy-yard.com/newsdetail_806963.html
Again, I do not have any knowledge on this subject, but I think this kit is very impressive. The only concern is that it could be expensive. Anyway it may be well worth it! :thumbs_up_1:
Regards,
Aop

Plating detailed in 7 different way! WOW!

It seems to reflect an amount of care for the hull never seen, in injection plastic, since the pantographed Revell sailboats of the late 50s and 60s...

Don’t suppose there is an approximate release date for this yet?

JY just posted some new model test pics, and they announce the new BIG MO should be available around April.

For their website, they felt sorry about that since they focus on product design and test right now, they will make it better asap.
