I wonder if anyone might help, been modelling a long time but only just started getting interested in ships.

Wife got me the USS Enterprise for Christmas and I am about to start it. I've been reading through the instructions and it gives you list of paints but it does not tell which parts are which colour.

Or am I missing something

Here's a couple links, one to ship camouflage and another to free photo source. Painting your ship depends on the timeframe in question.

Robbo,

Which brand kit do you have? The Academy 1/700 Enterprise CV6 or the Tamiya Enterprise CV6?

By the way, if you have any further questions, the “Calling All Enterprise CV-6 fans” thread will probably have more answers for you.

Modern kits rarely indicate how to paint specific parts during the build process. Instead, there's usually a separate paint guide on the last page of the instructions or separate sheet that shows you side and top views of the ship with which paints go where. For a lot of the detailed painting, you'll have to consult additional references.

Robbo,

Also with 3 D printed parts from Model Monkey, you can also her prewar with a little work. You can also get the proper planes for that period. Looks super cool and definately a conversation piece

The kit gives you a large sheet of masks for masking ALL the deck areas, not just the flight deck.

This tells me the decks should be a different colour to the rest of the ship
