Hi all, I am starting a 1/350 Tamiya Musashi build. I got the wooden deck replacement( which I have 0 exp on ) so here's the question: should I weather or apply panel liner to the replacement deck at all or leave it as it is? Also, should I glue on the photo etched railings before or after I put on the deck?

All input are appreciated

cheers

glue the railings on after you install the decks to prevent damage to the railings as you manhandle the decks into correct positions.

Howdy,

Panel liner? If you are referring to weathering the deck to make it’s details stand out more, that’s a matter of taste. I would do it if I am showing a well used Musashi, however I believe the Tamiya kits show her as built, so she would be pretty clean. If you do it, test what you use to weather on some spare pieces as different decks react differently to various mediums.

I would definitely wait on railings until after the deck is a fixed to make sure there is no alignment issues.

Good luck!

Matt
