Are we sure that's from the upcoming kit? The new pictures are posted by a different user, after all.

Oh Timmy I thought you can read Chinese? The very discussion thread is talking about the same injection Agincourt all along.

I only see a December date for the reply with the built-up pictures - all the other replies are from back in August when the CAD was posted. I have no doubt that the first page with all the August replies are talking about the injection kit, but the sudden December post on page two does not have any context.

That's because SonicModel went kaput for a few months. It only came back to life not long ago. Updates on this project during the shutdown period were posted on various lesser Chinese forums.

Some more interesting Trumpeter rumors...1/700 "BIG5" and a lot more straight from the horse's mouth.

Here's the source for those of you who can read Chinese,

News about Master Box & proposed Jutland kits in 1/700 - Picked up from a posting on S/N -

"Greetings, especially WW1 enthusiasts may remember that Master Box Ltd. from Ukraine had announced a "Jutland Series" of 1/700 plastic kits in which they pledged to offer all major warships which participated to the monumental battle; but little was heard from it thereafter. Last week I e-mailed the company about the fate of this series and get an extremely fast, kind and inspiring answer from their director. He assured me that nothing is in jeopardy and they are determined to carry on with this series. Moreover, he gave the good news that the first products, the four Koenig class battleships are going to appear this year and more will follow much quicker than these initial products. Finally, we can raise some realistic hopes about seeing such legendary names of nautical lore like HMS Iron Duke, HMS Lion and SMS Derfflinger in plastic... "

An odd subject but HLJ is showing in their Shizuoka Hobby Show preview section that Bandai is coming out with a 1/700 Deep Sea Drilling Vessel Chikyu.

This project has been taken over by Flyhawk according to the person who initiated it. So far Flyhawk is very tight-lipped about the status of the project.

I know Atma! I can't wait! Now all I need is an Alfa or a Searra class 1/350 scale and my Sub fleet will be looking good. Dose any one make a good Alfa in 1/350?

The Micro Mir/AVIS 1/350 Alfa has been released, and is on its way to me from HLJ (along with the Thresher and Sturgeon). I'm hoping for a good model as the Dragon one is CRAP, and I don't really want to pay for a resin one from Polar Bear.

Well, here are some pics of the MicroMir kit.
I have also put paint on it but did not take pics yet.
I would say it is VERY accurate from the plans and pics I have. Heck, it even has a decent cruciform vortex attenuator on the screw hub and a cockpit windshield made of PE! It is LEAPS ahead of the old Dragon "Hunt for Red October" stuff (trust me, I have both and they barely look similar). Also it comes dirt cheap if you look well on the net (I paid 10€ for mine - with shipping!).
Biggest defects: NO periscope/masts OOB and mating of hull halves as well as fitting of rudder and horizontal planes is somewhat challenging (in this do not expect the same level of "shake and build" of a Dragon kit!).
Enough talking

I second Atma.
I'm completing my Grigorov Akula/ Typhoon as Dmitri Donskoy and this little kit closely matches the real ship, particularly in the stern area.
Here are some shots:

Thanks Hanchang! Good to see the follow up to the original "Big 5"post some time back. Su7 says "PE baskets [cage masts], can be difficult" - do you read that as they're willing to try for the cage mast versions, or that it's a possibility they're considering?

Colorado and Maryland still had cage mast after PH. They gotta come up with a solution anyway.
