Hi,
fujimi has started to offer their kits also in a Full Hull version. It's the regular kit with extra partrs. As they are more expensive and seldom asked for, I only order them on request.
Kind regards,
Ralf Schuster

,if somebody produces it , will be Trumpeter for sure and for end will be affordable.

No, for me, it will be Fujimi like the Ise/Hyuga, or may be Hasegawa. And consequently, prices will be high

FlyHawk posted pictures of a built up Penelope on their FB page in May. Should be coming soon.

Oh, that's interesting. Anyone have any info on it? On the side of the box it looks like it may have PE included. Does Academy share molds with the Trumpeter/Merit group?

Hopefully between Academy and Trumpeter/Hobby Boss we will finally have a good Yorktown class in 1/700 scale.

From the picture of the Peter Strasser we seem to be entering a 'what if' scenario, as the carrier is in company with the super-battleship 'H/J' (56,200 tons) speculatively named Friedrich der Grosse and Gross Deutschland, which were broken up on the stocks in 1940. These ships were part of the 'Z' Plan which envisaged war with Great Britain in 1944, rather than 1939 which scuppered that Plan. This plan, along with that of the Invasion of Norway and the Mediterranean Actions were all in some part due to the work of Grand Admiral Raeder. It should be noted that Peter Strasser was also broken up on the stocks in 1940, having been completed up to the armoured deck.

The entry of the "what if" scenario was already the Graf Zeppelin kit ;) There was never a completed ship of the class, but the kit shows a completed ship.

You're not the only one wondering just that........I've been told that patience is a virtue!

Well spotted, Hugh.

Although I'd never build a nonexistent ship, I'm very intrigued by this artwork and the a/c modeler in me would like a better view of Strasser's deck load. Looks like a Flettner (real or speculative) helicopter closest to the bow.

The kit's been released and Hobby Search has the inbox look: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10460037

Unfortunately, no helicopter, but there is the classic "Haunebu" UFO!

Cheers Timmy, PMSL at the Adamski-style UFO

They got the aircraft 3/4 right; the Arado 195 had already been rejected (in real life) in favor of the Fieseler 167. But this is all speculative anyway, so who cares?
