Yeah that's one of the old crap kits - just a softer, cruder repop of the Tamiya.

Just caught this fish on Facebook - new 1/700 Yubari 1944 hopefully coming soon from Pit-Road!
Looks like my patience (of not buying the dated Tamiya kit) might pay off this time? :woo_hoo:

Cool! There was really a new kit needed. I wonder only why again a 1944 fit. I would think that Yubari is famous for her early fit as a test ship for new building methods and her role in the Battle of Savo Island. The conversion is for sure not very difficult.

Exactly my thoughts. Perhaps the documentation available for 1944 is more extensive than for earlier war fit, as usual. The conversion should not be a big issue hopefull - most importantly replacement of both lower 140mm gun mounts forward and aft, removal of three triple 25mm AA mounts with their shields plus all the single 25mm. She had no depth charge launchers and no radar until late 1943. It would be perhaps too naive to hope Pit-Road to release an early war version, this is no Yamato :)

According to Pit-Road, this is a 3D Printed pre production model. They still looking info on linoleum deck on IJN Yubari. Sources even in Japan are limited.

Caught this at the Free Time Hobbies site: https://freetimehobbies.com/1-700-blue-ridge-models-german-h-class-battleship-plastic-model-kit-preorder-price-tba/

First the Montana and now this. Maybe some day soon there might be an HMS Lion (1938 BB) as a future release.

Guys, I think these are old "news".

Take a look here, released in 2014.:
https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/search?typ1_c=102&cat=&state=&sold=0&sortid=0&searchkey=kamizukuri+1%2f700

Btw., I have those drydocks for years now in my stash (destroyer, cruiser and battleship docks).
I guess, in the meantime they run out of those kits.

Oh... And question about the MiniHobby Models’ Hornet in 1/700.

Is this a new kit, or an older one?

It is a copy of the old Tamiya Kit. They added a lower hull. It is a poor copy IMHO. They list it as the Hornet but I think it is actually a copy of Tamiya's 1/719ish Enterprise.

For any Facebook users, Tetra Model Works has posted several hundred photos from the 2018 All Japan Models and Hobby Show, Scrolling through them you will find images of a few ships from Pit Road Sky Wave, Fine Molds, Ironclad ( a 1/350 scale Atago), Hasegawa Very Fire (USS Wisconsin beside a USS Montana), Trumpeter's HMS Exeter (box art only I think) and AFV Club (including a built example of their 1/350 scale LST-1)

Just wondering...I Googled the kit (1132) on Scalemates and the description states PE as one of the included parts. Is this just a single tiny limited PE fret? There are no pics of box contents. However, the link from Hobby Search includes a wide array of PE, brass barrels, wood deck, and deck mask. I suspect that these are just a display of items that are (will be) available for the kit, at extra expense. Part of me wants to be greedy ( ) and pre-order right now, the other part says,"wait, and order 1132S when it's available" .
