Hi Y’all,

Being mindful of the earlier postings regarding RN Models in 1/350, I thought it advisable to get an update from Cruiseline Models. To that end, Dave Moseley of Cruiseline Models has provided me with the following information. The actual list is verbatim from the email correspondence.

List includes:

Renown 1942 version and 1944 version
Sheffield 1941/2
Victorious 1941 as completed
Royal Oak 1939
Resolution 1942
Barham 1941
Malaya 1943
Queen Elizabeth 1943
Warspite 1943
Plus 1 x cruiser TBC
Plus 2 x destroyers TBC

The proposed price aimed at for the Renown will be £98.50 for the waterline version, with an optional lower hull at around £18.00.

The Renown, Sheffield and Royal Oak are well underway though later than planned, but the release date is now expected to be the end of January, 2010.

Cruiseline Models are also producing 1/700 scale buildings, so check out http://www.cruiselinemodels.com/700th-buildings

The models will only be available via the online shop.

For those whose interests include cars, a model of an Escort Rally car, will also be produced by Cruiseline Models.

Regards,

Hugh Williams

Hi Hugh,
This is indeed great news!!I would like to wish Cruiseline every success for the future. It`s about time the Royal Navy got the attention it deserved.
I will no doubt been having every one of their releases ,the only drawback is having the time to do them all!!I think I`ll have to fully retire.
Thanks for all your efforts Hugh

Regards Phil

Whatever happened to Cruiseline?

Has it all died a death?

Hi,

No, but briefly, the tentative schedule is for May 2010 release of HMS Renown and HMS Sheffield. Others to follow at 6 week intervals. More details will be released in due course.

Regards,

Hugh Williams

A question If I may. Are you the official mouthpiece for Cruiseline, or just passing on what you have heard? If the latter, will the company be making official announcments?
Thank you.

Hi,

In response to ar's enquiry, and, I don't wish to start something of a flame war here, and further I can't include his enquiry due to the limitations on including quotes to 2 in reply:

No, not official, but I speak direct to Dave Moseley and clear anything before posting. May I suggest you contact Dave Moseley direct. I just happen to be an enthusiast for Royal Naval warships, amongst other things, if you have followed the postings on the subject.

Regards,

Hugh Williams

Thank you for replying,
I have followed your postings on the subject, but I would have hoped that Cruise Line would have made their own official announcements, as your messages state that initial releases are now delayed.
As of yesterday, there is nothing on Cruise Lines website that I can find that says anything regarding titles or release dates.

To Mr Moseley of Cruise Line; Could you pleases give the public some official information as to titles, prices and release dates. This, in order for persons to place orders , if allowed.
Thank you Mr Moseley.

I have just noticed that 3 new kits are available at JB Models
Choroszy Modelbud - SMS V 161 first world war hochseetorpedoboot
JB's Torpedoboot Magnet
JB's Torpedoboot Planet
All in 1/700, and looking like they are excellent kits!

Choroszy 1/700 scale waterline kits... ...this is a good thing!

(E.g. Ref. Dec 09 Review of Choroszy Cat no. S 70001 by Jim Baugmann)

I have a fairly large collection of Choroszy resin 1/72 scale WW-I aircraft - all very
high quality, finely molded, resin kits. Judging from these, I would expect that Choroszy"s
waterline series will turn out to be impressive... ...At the very least, on par with Combrig or
Niko.

For those who prefer to purchase retail locally in the Continental U.S., you can find Choroszy
Modelbud kits at Joe's Models (Use Google to get website for e-mail orders).

Hello

BMK and I have got an agreement during the Oberschleissheim to make a line of 1/700 resin kits, with me doing the masters and Burkhardt caring for the PE and turned parts. We decided to concentrate on the merchant and cargo ships. My master models will most likely be based on the plans from Werft Reederei Hafen magazine from the 20es and 30es - see literature section for the indexes of the yearbooks.

First master model is now finished and will leave today to Burkhardt for PE design. This one will be a small river freighter, which would be a common sight in any sea harbor. The prototype of this model are the fast motorships Cimbria and Normannia, built by Schiffswerft und Maschinenfabrik Christof Ruthof, Mainz-Kastel and Regensburg, for N.V. Reederij v/h J.H.Koenigsfeld, Rotterdam, in 1928. It is typical enough ship to be converted to many of those thousands of similar ships plowing all major european (and most likely american) rivers.

HMVS Cerberus?

The Victorian ship? As in Victoria, the Australian colony?

Now that would be a good one to have - although 1/350 would be rather small - about 20cm long I would think.

Well I'd put my name down for one of those. Interestingly, she is still around (just) as a breakwater in Pt Philip Bay in Australia.

She is actually quite a significant item for a number of reasons.

cheers,

bj

Our 1/350 Tribal class destroyer kit should begin shipping this week. In addition, here is the latest addition to our 1/350 Narrow Seas range, NS 021, USN "Nasty" class PTF from the Vietnam era:

Pattern is complete and off for casting. As soon as we have a cost quote from the caster, we will be able to set the price.

I know I asked on Steel Navy. But I don't see USS Salem/Newport News on the list for Combrig releases. It's been listed as "coming soon" for over 5 years. I've been waiting patiently for it. I have the 1/700 ISW version, but it's so rough and full of broken parts and bits I haven't even attempted starting it.
