Has anyone had bad experiences with this site? I ordered some 3D printed 40mm quad. A week later, I got a message that it was shipped. The day before it was scheduled to be delivered, I get another message that due to high demand, the order was delayed.

A week later, another message that my order was shipped. Four days later, another message that due to high demand, the order is delayed.

Very frustrating.

Steve

I tried AliExpress once, and once was enough.

To cut a long story short - the resin kit I "bought" did not exist. The seller strung me along saying that it was taking a while to get it casted (!!). Eventually I asked for a refund which I got.

But then I started getting daily tracking notices as if the kit had been shipped. When asked, the seller said they had shipped an empty package (to a non-existent address!) to avoid issues with non-shipment (this I didn't quite understand). It eventually ended up being returned to sender - after I'd been bombarded with tracking emails and requests to post feedback.

The "kit" was removed from the listings.

Never again!

AliExpress runs a lot of separate store fronts, the same way eBay allows sellers to create their own stores. So your mileage may vary depending on the store. I bought a bunch of details that I couldn't find elsewhere here in the US - primarily metal barrels for the Takom 1/72 and details for their 1/350 Berlin Flak Towers. If you hover over the store name, you can see their rating. I did this, found a couple of stores with good ratings and did small test orders. Never had a problem placing larger orders after that. I would generally go back in my order history to find those stores and then search within them to see if / which one sold what I was looking for.

Not sure if I'll order again with the current tariff madness.

That just happens to be the store I "ordered' from. Twice now, they said it was shipped, only to be updated a couple days later with "due to high demand, your ordered is delayed". Strange. You just told me it was shipped.

If I ever get this order, I'll never order from ALiExpress again.

I bought a lot of watch parts (for my hobby of making watches) and it always delivered, fast and easy.
Yes, some products were so so quality and I asked the seller about this and they usually dodged questions when it came to refund (they said "send it back, we send new" and I trust zero to that). But generally I never had any kind of shipments issues.

When it comes to buying 3D printed parts (mainly turrets and such, but I did buy some other stuff) - always gone via EBAY, and never had issues. And most people ship via ebay, even all these war-thunder ports of ships, you can find on ebay. No point to buy on Ali till they fix their stuff if this is your experience.

PS. If you use AMEX or may be Paypal or whatever else, dispute the transaction on the credit card charge. I know that with AMEX which has excellent CS, disputing transaction is a solid way to tell the merchant to Fk off for bad or dodgy service.

Odd...I disputed the charge with AMEX and all of a sudden, they're shipping the order and providing tracking info.
