NOAA has been doing ROV dives on Yorktown over the past few days. Link to the YouTube feed (it's Live, with nothing going on right now, but you can rewind through the footage):

The footage is amazingly clear. The technology has really improved since she was first found back in '98.

They're finding some wild things on Yorktown's hangar deck. Looks like there's a jeep, parts of an SBD with bomb still in the sling, and a freakin' CAR, of all things.

Yeah, it was pretty cool to see the 250lb? bomb still on the wing of the SBD.

The presence of the unknown car is a nice mystery.

NOAA thinks that car is a "Super Deluxe Woody 41". Sure looks like it to me. :cool_1:

Ah, so it's not two different vehicles, as I assumed. The rear and profile view didn't look similar enough to me.

Biggest reveal so far -- even though I'm stumped as to why that car was aboard -- is the mural. In amazing shape. Check out the Battleship New Jersey video on YouTube for detailed looks at it.
