why is it that most of the new members joining this site the past 3+ years have spam in their profile, do not contribute to this site & are not removed? maybe the spam in their profiles are causing issues with the site's servers that we are experiencing?

Forum's too old to incorporate the latest and greatest in anti-spam/auto-identify fake users. But we don't really care because they can't do anything nefarious (unless one of you click on their links...but we trust that none of you have any reason to and are too smart to do so) since we have a rule that requires the first three posts to be manually approved by moderators before an account can post willy-nilly, so none of you should ever see an actual spam post unless we screw up.

Removing them is pointless because they can just re-create the account using the same name.

Basically, your forum experience should not be affected unless you're scrolling down to the bottom and clicking on every new member ID, which would be akin to someone complaining about the smell and sight of garbage in a restaurant because they're looking into the dumpster in the alley.
