Welcome to the ModelWarships.com Message board. If you have problems logging on contact the ADMIN or send an email to Cadman@ModelWarships.com.

This board is intended for discussion of Naval subjects, both in scale and real life. Please take time to read and understand the following rules:

1. DO NOT Post copyrighted material on this site.

2. No flamewars. Save that type of behavior for personal E mails.

3. Use the search feature to see if someone has already answered or posted about the subject before posting.

4. If you're looking to buy or sell, please post in our Trading Post. Note; you must register, this is to assist in the dealings, trades and swaps that occur with frequency. Most members are far and beyond above board, but there is always someone who attempts nefarious activity. No commercial sales.

5. If you quote a source over 500 words, you must cite the source (give full credit) to the originator. I doubt they would steal your work, so don't steal theirs.

6. NO POLITICAL POSTS. We are a community of different nations, and different beliefs. DO NOT SLANDER anyone's beliefs. Limited politics are allowed in the off topic section. See the rules in that forum for details.

7. NO RELIGIOUS POSTS. Each person has their own opinions/beliefs and this is not the place for that activity. Limited religious posts are allowed in the off topic section. See the rules in that forum for details.

8. NO RACIAL SLANDERS. Anyone violating this will be banned from this site by ISP tracking. It is not tolerated.

9. Use common sense when posting. Answering every post will not get you advanced, in fact the reverse is true.

10. Registered members may post THEIR OWN Ebay offerings provided they are not running a store.

11. Watch the profanities. We have young people learning this hobby, we are also a family site. Little Johnny will learn his profanities on his own, we don't need them learning them here.

12. NO SPAMMING -- Enough said!

13. If you find a quarrel on another board--LEAVE IT THERE!

14. Limit images in your signature lines to a maximum of 128x128 pixels in dimensions.

15. This forum is made possible partly by the generous donations of our sponsors. If you are not one of our sponsors please refrain from using this forum to promote your site or products.

16. When discussing the merits of a particular kit or lack there of; please refrain from calling it a piece of #$%^. You may point out the flaws, even if there are many. But do not simply bash the kit without backing up your statements.

17. No anonymous posting. If you are going to take a stand on a kit, company, or person, then use your real name. Violators will be exposed, banned or both. If you have a strong opinion on something, at least have the courage to use your real name.

19. DO NOT POST YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN CLEAR TEXT. Nefarious web users have tools called "spiders" that scan websites looking for mail addresses. Putting an email address in your name is an instant guarantee of thousands of unsolicited spam mail and advertisements. Instead, register and the "private mail" button allows us to protect your privacy.

20. DO NOT copy material from this site onto other sites without first asking permission.

Removed rule 18 on picture size limit, since it's now enforced by the board's coding.

Note if you do not use a valid email you will not get notices when you subscribe to topic and when you get a PM. Also to avoid the large number of bounced messages that come back to me I will limit your account until your email is fixed.

If you change your e-mail address and do not update it here, any topic notifications that are sent to your old account will bounce back and go into Tim's (aka Cadman) account. He has been getting a lot of them lately and it has reached the point of annoyance that he is going to start disabling features of the accounts of those that do for the joint purpose of decreasing the amount of time he has to spend cleaning e-mail and getting the attention of those who have not made the time or thought to update their profile. He puts a lot of time into this site, and we ask that you take the time to help keep him free enough to continue to do so.

To update your profile, click on the "User Control Panel" link on the upper right hand corner, and then under the "profile" section, go to "Edit Account Settings."

As long as you still know your password you can log in and change it. Keep in mind that the minute you change your email, your account will deactivate and wait for you to confirm the new email address. Make sure you check your spam filter to make sure the confirmation message doesn't get trapped there. If you still have problems just post a message here and one of us will see it.

All inactive users have been removed. Due to the large number of spam bots registering fake accounts on this forum, I tend to delete them every few days. If you use gmail or mail.ru, your account will probably be deleted if left inactive. So if you use one of these please activate your account immediately.

All guests will now have to wait for a moderator or admin to approve your posts. This may be inconvenient, but it keeps you from having to view some really nasty porn spam. In addition, when you register, your first three posts will need to be approved. After that it is automatic. This is not an attempt to censor you, it is to keep spammers from registering and posting.

If you use a mail server that does not allow email without first filling out a form, you will NOT get an activation email from this forum. I get these requests mailed to me many times when some of you try to register. I can not reply to these as the address "messages@shipmodels.info" is only used by the forum to send notices and can not reply. If you send an email to that address, it will forward to my email, thus when I get a notice such as this one;

I apologize for this automatic reply to your email.

To control spam, I now allow incoming messages only from senders I have approved beforehand.

If you would like to be added to my list of approved senders, please fill out the short request form (see link below). Once I approve you, I will receive your original message in my inbox. You do not need to resend your message. I apologize for this one-time inconvenience.

So if you use such an email service go to your spam controls and manually add messages@shipmodels.info to your approved sender or your registration will be unsuccessful.

If your email is not working then your account will be limited until such a time as you update it with a valid one.

I would like to notify those whose email is bouncing, but I can't because, you guessed it, your email is bouncing. So instead I am disabling the email functions of your account. If you find yourself unable to do some functions that previously worked, then contact me once you have fixed your email.

Add "messages@shipmodels.info" as an approved sender before you register.
