I'd like to bring attention to this game, it is quite fun to play, and is probably the most complex strategy game in existance...

I've currently got two campaigns going in this.

Probably the best wargame out there on the Pacific war.

I am also in a campaign now, playing Allies vs AI, very hard setting. It is January 43, and I am in progress of invading Japan, with bridgehead at Kanoya ;) Japan now only has its islands, Manchuria and Korea, plus a minimal Chinese area around Beijing (with Chinese and Indian troops advancing towards there), plus bypassed Truk and Marshalls. Philippines never fell. I also saved the Dutch East Indies, and turned the tide in Birma at Rangoon, cleaning Indochina and Singapore by September 42. I also had luck that I managed to catch japanese carriers in small groups with all my carriers at hand as they tried to prevent my convoy to Philippines, resulting in full destruction of all 6 big carriers in two battles with less then two weeks in between, in February 42. All my carriers survived that somehow, even if some were really badly damaged, Yorktown and Hermes making to Manila and Soerabaja in close to sinking condition but repaired rapidly.

Yeah, probably most detailed PC strategy ever, down to individual ship/plane/pilot/squad.

When I got the first version of the game, I was scared of trying the big campaign for years.

I've found out that if you just wade into it, everything makes sense fairly quickly. It breaks up into lots of smaller campaigns around the map.

I still play the original regularly. Lots of fun.

I wish they had a Mac version of it.

I am tempted to buy an old PC just to play this game.

It's an awesome game, to be sure. Never seen anything even close to the level of detail in this game...but it somehow manages to make it fun and not tedious. The only thing I always find is myself wishing that there were good graphical representations of the ships during the battles and whatnot. I need to reinstall this...been a while.
